The moral of this story? Don't book holidays during the football season.SuperNickyWroe wrote: ↑03 Jul 2019, 13:31 Not happy.
As an exile, I'm going to miss Notts County away as I'm on holiday!

It will still be the Vanarama National League, not the Motorama League.

The flags weren't given out, they were on tables next to the toilets for people to help themselves.budegull1954 wrote: ↑23 Apr 2019, 13:52 According to the various match reports 'everyone' received a yellow flag (or was it orange?) to wave when they entered the ground. Well I arrived at 2.30 with my brother and there were certainly no flags being given out at the Popside entrance at that time. Neither were there any 'souvenir' programmes available. A small point maybe but it didn't take the gloss off a great occasion, even if the match itself was a huge anticlimax. Did anyone else on the left-hand side of the Popside see the blatant penalty in the second half when a Hungerford player batted the ball with his hand in the penalty area? You could hear the smack of hand against ball quite clearly from where I was standing - Conor L-Evans (best player on the pitch) was furious and rightly so.
We saw that hand ball as clear as day from the middle of the Pop. The ref missed a couple of clear pens for us in the second half I thought.

So if we'd scored 3 or 4 it wouldn't have been an injustice and yet we were already on the beach with halfhearted challenges and commitment?Teigngull wrote: ↑22 Apr 2019, 18:43 Far too many players already on the beach, season done & dusted in their eyes, their keeper played a blinded & if he'd conceded 3 or 4 today it wouldn't have been an injustice.
Over 5300 supporters let down by half hearted challenges & commitment, sorry if it sounds harsh but that's the way I saw it. A damp squib & the celebrations were somewhat subdued.
Which is it as both statements surely can't be true?

Scored 12 and assisted 13.GoodringtonGull wrote: ↑17 Apr 2019, 15:57 I like Andrews alot, and to some this may seem harsh, but I honestly think we can secure someone better on a permanent deal. Yes he's scored 11 and assisted a handful as well,

Ruari Keating
We looked vulnerable at corners on Saturday, a lot of which was down to the absence of Keating and Hall after they went off.Southampton Gull wrote: ↑08 Apr 2019, 11:54 He was also outstanding in the air, can't remember him losing one high ball.

TUFC Fans Banned?
If you want a more "cerebral day" then bugger off to the rugby with the other dreary Ruperts!Yorkieandy wrote: ↑08 Apr 2019, 14:22
IMO there needs to be specific sections at home and away games for fans who want a more 'vibrant' experience at games and fans who are this way inclined can take in flags, drums, controlled pyro or whatever.
If you want a quiet, more cerebral day at the footy then stay well away from the pyro end and then nobody can have any complaints because everyone knows which area they prefer to be in and where they stand.
As for your other point, well this is already the case at pretty much every ground in the country. Those who like to sing stand together and sing, those who don't choose to stand elsewhere. It's not rocket science and we don't need the bloody authorities telling us in which sections we can do it.

Johnson in demand
If anything I would say our wage bill (for players) is considerably less than it was at the start of the season. Gowling and Williams who were probably our highest earners both left along with a fairly large number of other players. And we've only brought in two permanent signings (Kalala and Sendles-White who are unlikely to be on big money) and a few young loanees.Plainmoor78 wrote: ↑28 Mar 2019, 16:37 The 'new owners' are hardly new and to anybody tempted to give them some credit for our forth coming promotion it should be remembered they were responsible for us being in this division in the first place.
The upturn is purely for footballing reasons, ie Johnsons tactical nous. I don't think any extra money has been spent, just consider the size of our squad.

Probably Dave Caldwell?Watford Gull sort of wrote: ↑28 Mar 2019, 13:54 Afternoon all, I'll get this out in the open straight away, I am a fan of a different club but have had a soft spot for Torquay for the best part of 30 years and always try to to get to at least a game a season, either home or away.
It's just a quick note to wish you all the best in the game at Woking and of course the rest of the season. It's great to see you having a decent season especially considering how it started! If you want any advice for Woking (pubs, parking etc) please ask as my in laws live there and I was there for a game earlier in the season.
Quick question, there was a player for Torquay, probably late 80's or early 90's who had a terrible disciplinary record who I can't remember the name of. Can anybody help, I seem to remember him being sent off 8 or 9 times for Torquay

Current opinions on Clark Osborne and Gaming International
Southampton Gull wrote: ↑09 Mar 2019, 15:06 He's considered the devil because of his M. O. which has resulted in the loss of stadia to numerous sports clubs and despite him ALWAYS promising to build a new stadium NEVER has, its really that simple.
There's no doubting his business acumen but it's ALWAYS been at the expense of the club involved. Are we going to be any different to Bristol Rovers? I somehow doubt it. Anything else is open to debate but who thinks he would ever deliver us a new stadium? Definitely not I!!!
A leopard never changes his spots. If people can't see that someone who has repeatedly wreaked havoc on the sporting clubs he has been involved in is bad news then I have a bridge in London I would like to offer them.

Truro City end groundshare
Pretty sure our season ticket holders don't get into Truro games for free anymore. I certainly had to pay on New Years Day!Midlandgull wrote: ↑05 Jan 2019, 09:04 Not sure how many of us would pay to go to watch Truro v Woking, definitely more than a usual Truro fixture but it wouldn't be a big pay day in my opinion. More away fans would come if it was at ours, some of season ticket holders (for free), you might get up to 1000 fans, but how many would be paying?
Send them down to Truro!
