Re: ATTENDANCES LAST SEASON
Calm down Matt before your head explodes. I did say "presumably". It may be for other reasons...

Re: Players
Yep, Id go for that too, but only as long as we get a 6 foot plus striking partner that will nod down crosses for him

Re: ATTENDANCES LAST SEASON
Perhaps a look at the club site might be a good idea Clem? They have already got a extra pound added on for "high value" matches, presumably for policing/extra stewards.clemy1989 wrote:its been mentioned before but i think a structured system needs to be in place. ie class a class b class c. class a being the most pricey for games like argyle bristol swindon and any other 6 pointers/ key games. class b for games which may not be derbies but that could be feiry and higher away followings where i would include crawley town and oxford maybe a few more. then the majority class c. i would make it £12 class C £14 class B and finally £18 Class A. yes a 4 pound jump for the big games but the demand is there simple business economics
Supply and demand only works in this case assuming demand outstrips supply. I would like to think we would have plenty of sell outs but realistically cant see it happening, even with reduced capacity...

Re: Players
Interested in where you get that from? Most of the visiting teams this season looked to have a left/right combination that I could see? Whilst most of the prem level players look as though they can play with either foot, you dont usually see that at our level.Fonda wrote: The majority of teams have two right-footed centre-halfs - i'm not convinced it's considered vastly different playing on one side or the other - unless you are being pulled out of position regularly!

Either way water under the bridge now. Manse still remains my favourite player & in the light of this startling 'video evidence' I'll have to alot 80% of the blame to Danny after all.
Either way, it would harsh to criticise either TBH. Its not that often (hopefully!) that a slightly mis-hit pass gets intercepted by someone who can unleash a shot like that from about 5 or so yards outside the "d" past someone of Bevs size
I just cant believe ive kept so much video of this season

Theres good man management for you...loyalgull wrote:He will not be offered a contract at Shrews. He found out by reading it on the club website (no phone call or text from their manager), so he isn't happy at all.
I wonder who will make an approach for him now? I can't see a league 1 club wanting him, so maybe he will end up back here?

Can I agree with you Dave??Southampton Gull wrote:
Brucie, the reason Ellis wasn't picked is down to Branston who much preferred to play with Robertson alongside him, he (Branston) felt that Ellis was continually out of position and wasn't a good enough marker.
Theres also the fact that both Robbo and Ellis are naturally right sided players whilst Branners is naturally left sided. Of course you could say they should be able to play either side but we are talking L2 players not Barca standard

Ive still got the video clip on my recorder Joe. Yes it was Mansell wanting it played to his feet, shame it was about 6 foot in front with way too much pace as it wizzed straight past him invitingly for the Sherrif to pick up. Trying to snapshot it to post, but ms players doesnt seem to have snapshot Got it now Feel free to resize it admins...

Re: Support
As you say Dave, its all about opinions.Southampton Gull wrote:I think it's pretty pathetic to jump on smithy for his opinion that they pissed him off. He's a regular fan, he's made plenty of trips to see us when he was at Portsmouth Uni and is committed to going as often as possible. If during our biggest game of the year he gets pissed off by "day-trippers" why shouldn't he say it on here? It's just his opinion.
My own opinion is that I'm happy for as many as possible to follow us to any game but I can certainly sympathise with his feelings on it.
Incidentally, before the game started it was like a morgue in WU103, I stood on my seat to start a song to try and get others to join in and an old guy behind me tried to pull me off it and asked me to keep quiet. I found it quite funny to be honest and explained that I was just trying to get some singing going and asked if he saw the Shrewsbury game on tv. I chatted on and off to him and asked him to attend Plainmoor to give it a go because like a lot of us I'm sure he'd get the bug and I'm sure smiffy would have done the same even though he'd rather not have been sat amongst them.
Calling him a **** for being honest enough to say what he said says more about you than him to be honest. It takes allsorts Fletch, the very point you're trying to make is lost in your attack on him. I've got a lot of time for your opinions, even if I don't always agree with them, but this time I just think you're being a bit of a plank. I'm sure I am at times as well and usually I get told pretty quickly, but most of the time I'm just pushing people into a debate because even if I seem to totally disagree with them I might just be trying to get them to share more than they might have intended. I don't have a problem with you at all but that doesn't mean I can't disect your views when I choose to
My opinion is that anyone who comes out with crap like "The daytrippers fu*ked me off all day and ruined my day" or "I don't want these people on a regular basis. They ruined the experience for me and a lot of other torquay fans" and the like, is a f**kwit.
Ive already said I dont have anything against those that want to jump around and shout all game. I prefer to concentrate on watching the game personally but each to their own.
Feel free to hold your differing opinion...

Re: Support
Personally speaking Dave, I have no particular affinity with people who attend regularly or those that dont. There are plenty of people that either live too far away to attend regularly or, as the case may be, find it difficult to justify the cost involved attending matches on a regular basis, particularly when you take into account a family visit. I certainly dont think they should be vilified by f**kwits who seem to think that the playoffs were laid on for "them" and anyone that attended OT as a special treat is less worthy then "them". Just to repeat one of the comments "The daytrippers fu*ked me off all day and ruined my day". If you think that being a "regular" supporter entitles you that sort of view then fine, you're welcome to associate yourself with that opinion. I think it's pretty pathetic to be honest...Southampton Gull wrote:I think someone must have nicked Fletch's normal spot, he seems mighty angry at those who attend regularly

And I "think" you will find they didnt. Do you think he just came here on spec for a trial, without Matlock knowing of our interest?Richinns wrote:

I don't want these people on a regular basis. They ruined the experience for me and a lot of other torquay fans
Seem pretty obvious pops at those that fancied a day out watching Torquay at OT if you ask me...The daytrippers fu*ked me off all day and ruined my day. I would obviously take them regularly because we need the income, however I do feel they ruined the atmosphere at old trafford and contributed massively to the sh*t atmosphere

Im sure Matt will fight his own corner but thats a load of codswallop. We wouldnt meet the valuation that was placed on Hannah. It had bugger all to do with Matt, or Soton Dave for that matter...Richinns wrote: Matt - I don't know if it is intended but sometimes you come across as totally disrespectful and ignorant of others. Re: Fans forum
Why would we find ourselves without " Branno and Eunan et al". The only ones not contracted to the club are Branners, Bevs & Stevens? (Potter having moved for 1st team action)... Eunan and the rest of the full timers are under contract for next season. If you mean Stanley, he's pondering the offer from Morecambe. Robinson TBH im not that convinced by. With hindsight, I have to agree with most of the comments when we signed him, from the shrews that visit us. Great at times but drifts out of games too often (bit like Danny really).ferrarilover wrote:Maybe. It would be nice to know that they have a plan going forward. At the moment, we are at a crucial time in the season, we are already behind for having been in the playoffs and we have no guiding hand with PB gone. We need someone to come up with a plan, and damn quick, otherwise the holiday period will be over, and the real bidding will start in earnest and we will find ourselves without Branno and Eunan et al and with no real idea of how to replace them or with whom. Matt.
