Matt.
Just make sure you sign that self-study CD out from the T&D gimps and put the ticks in the right boxes (assuming that's still what they use)

Re: Why aren't we chasing...

I think you will find Matt is some distance from a teenage saddo (though possibly a rigger ;-) )
Im sure he will book himself on an EO course (full of remorse) on Monday.
Perhaps you should grow a thicker skin?

Plus points - we scored three goals
Negative points - we were 3-1 up, Buckle switches things around and we concede 2 goals and cling on to one point.
Just to be accurate Scotty, 2 subs were made when we were 2-1 up but Crewe were getting more of the game. Shortly afterwards Eunan scored the third to put us 3-1 up. Was that a tactical error?

Jane, I take it you've not visited TQ recently? Cant say the selection of shops is anything to get lightheaded about ;-)
Far too much of a clone town nowadays :(

happytorq wrote: That shouldn't really matter; they should be aware of the local market. I always used to have a poster of the games in the Hills shop in Plainmoor (okay, so preaching to the choir, maybe).
Indeed it shouldnt. You may find that the like of O2/Vodaphone etc (being as we seem to have every mobile phone shop going in the main street) dont like any advertising in their window as a policy, apart from their own products? Perhaps someone that works in a "national store" could let us know?

Perhaps the club could have professional posters (A3 size maybe) done with the next 2 months matches on it, and offer the shop manager a couple of comp tickets to display it in the window (assuming thats not done already)?

Might get people into the habit of going regularly?

Re: Crewe vs Torquay Match Thread

Crewe seem to play an open style of footie which we will normally do well against (eg Shrews/Vale etc). Is it just me that thinks the big problem we have is against teams that get 10 behind the ball and look to catch us on the break (eg Accy/Maccy)?

westbaygull wrote:I don't know how much advertising of the matches is done locally - I saw on the trust site that 120 posters are put up, but are matches advertised in the local press and on the radio?
It is if you get the Herald (TUFC nearly always the main headline on the back page)/listen to Radio Devon (although there is usually a bit more about Gargs/Greeks on it)

I have seen several shops with a fixture poster in the window but not that many in the main street though (probably cos they're nearly all "national chain" type shops)

Re: Playing budget cut confirmed...

Regrettably thats a fact of life nowadays Brucie. As both you and Dave P have said, financial considerations mean people
have less disposable income to spend attending matches. The same applies to the board, they cant continue to keep pumping
money into the club so cashing in on an asset is inevitable sooner or later :(

Someone earlier in the thread pointed out that he's hardly setting the pitch on fire at Lincoln. Asked a former workmate for his opinion (cheers KB :) )....I wont use the language being as under 18s frequent the board but disinterested and going missing during games figured prominently....
