Re: AFC Wimbledon v Torquay United - 18/9/12

Rene Howe was class tonight, looked a level above any other player on the park, an absolute pleasure to watch. Bodin had a poor first half but an equally brilliant 2nd half, he and Rene connected really well on several occasions. Morris a bit hit and miss I'm affraid, at times he looks Compfortable in the middle and wins a fair share of headers and distributes the ball well, but at other times he is found wanting a little in the challenge and played some poor passes, against better opposition we'll struggle I think in the midfield. Easton played well, no complaints, Saah a rock, Craig very good attacking threat. All in all a well deserved 3 points, well done lads, let's hope we can get some momentu

Re: all our rivals

Agree with that. We have to really make the home games count now as they are obviously the two harder fixtures! I reckon Crawley and Shrews will be expecting us to drop points at home v Southend with their impressive away record, so if we can turn them over the pressure will really be on for them to make sure they take max points from their games in hand next mid week. Isnt football a funny old game now need fatty to do us a favour as Rotherham boss and take some points off of Shrews on sat! P.s kinda of irrelevant now but I reckon a resurgent Plymouth could nick a point at the County Ground!

Re: Southampton v Torquay Match Day Thread

Enjoyed that game, well done the lads, score line very flattering for Saints! We were so unlucky not to make it 2-2 after a period of domination in 2nd half in which you really would not have ever thought they were two tiers above us in the league! So ignore the score, that was a really good performance, to echo the match report Howe was fantastic, a real handfull. For me though our MOTM was O'Kane who was without doubt the best player on the park, if we manage to keep him past the Jan transfer window ill be amazed, I'm sure a nice 3 figure sum will be on the table from a championship club, perhaps Saints. Right bring on the Gas, see you all at the Mem.
ChertseyGull p.s well done to those who made the trip up from Devon, 350 or so a Tuesday nightin August is a superb effort.

Bristol Rovers Away Game (Yellow Pride!)

Regardless of what happens on opening day of the season at home, let's get as many gulls as we can to the Bristol game and show we are proud to be Torquay fans!

A lot has been said about Buckle, the players which have left, the players that have come in, the new boss, the board, most of it negative or if you prefer constructive critism! No doubt the ship is sailing in rocky waters, what better way to steady it than to unite as TUFC fans have always done, get the vocal cords going at the Gas and get a crucial away win and 3 points! Getting one over Bucks, the players that have jumped shisp and the select few Gas fans on these boards with perhaps less than the best intentions will just be an added bonus!

Not backing the team now and not voting with your feet by going to Bristol could cost us the points and create an uphill challenge for the rest of the season.

Come on guys, Torquay till we die!
