Not really, just the standard in this league hasnt really been up to much, even Swindon and Crawley who played us fairly recently. Shrews look a decent footballing side but other than that...

I was expecting a defeat saturday after getting beat by the bottom team in the week, but after being 2-0 up a draw felt like we lost.

Good luck with the rest of the season, much rather TUFC went up that some of the other clubs near the top.

Re: Something to celebrate

Sorry guys, but the likes of yourselves, Cheltenham and Southend just go to show how shocking this league is.

What that makes us I shudder to think.

I'm sure he will get a warm welcome from both sets of fans!
Who will give him most stick-Yellow Army or Gasheads?

Lemme think, Torquay who he got promotion from the conference with, or Rovers who he almost took down to the conference ?

Can't see how he could show his face tbh, but the ego in him will probably mean he'll be there. Can we request he do your half time draw??

so i only saw the first 3 goals, and you had to feel sorry for the keeper, he barely saw any of them on his big day, three quality strikes.

I think its temporarily papered over the cracks, even still, Totten could have scored 4 at least.

I've got a feeling we will still be the same in the league, and Buckle will be gone soon if he cant turn that form around.

You can have Zebs back for free, you can see for yourself he is useless even against a side 3 leagues below. Stanley isnt that much better either. Buckles problem hasnt been injuries, its not being able to get the best out of players he should know really well.

Sounds like a slaughter but i have to say I am surprised by your recent results as expected you to do better. On saying that those on here who are saying you are relegation material is nonsence. You will finish a comfortable mid table and I personally still think you will push for the play offs and I see us in a similar position.

I can't see us or Torquay getting in the play offs.

Torquay just dont have real quality or strength in depth, and Rovers have average L2 players

He has the weekend off apparently, according to his twittering....must be good being a footballer!!

Average player anyway, not that we use the midfield much to be fair. I can see why he couldnt get into the Morecambe team....

Well Branston hasnt been getting good reviews for Bradford, apart from the Leeds game, so maybe he's now on the decline. That still left us lumbered with Adam Virgo who turns like the titanic.

No doubt on Saturday we will lump high balls right onto his head all day long and make him look like Rio Ferdinand

CAN'T TAKE IT EH?

Dosn't supriise me at all, but you'd think though that he'd take time with a genuine supporter with genuine concerns, he's obviously going to tell others so you'd think he'd take time to try and explain his decissions and proposed actions. That way if he wins him over at least the supporter will walk way with the attitude "you know what he's all right." I know he's under pressure but theres no excuse for spending a miniscule of time with those that pay his salary.

Absolutely, my dad did tell him he's been supporting them for 50 odd years and its as bad now as its ever been, on the pitch anyway.

He obviously got them training on a Sunday after the Crawley shambles so to wonder why a fan wasn't happy is a bit of a cheek.

If Buckle comes on the radio once more after a defeat acting like we've won 10-0 (as he did after the Wycombe game), i'll hit the roof

Matt.
Well to be fair we haven't really spent much money in the close season, in fact our record transfer fee is almost 20 years old. Most of the contracts are now partly performance related so at least that is saving us money currently.

The high earners and poor performers have almost been shipped out from last season, and replaced by less expensive players giving exactly the same results.

We wont do anything this season thats for sure, and currently i'd let Torquay have back all the players Buckled "nicked".

Re: deja vu

My dad went over to the training ground when Buckle got them in for training on Sunday after the Crawley game, he was chatting to Harrold (cos he's met him before) saying how pathetic the performances have been (not directed at Harrold obviouslsly) and Buckle overheard him and asked "oh, so you weren't impressed then?". My dad started telling him some home truths about how rubbish we have been, and was asked to leave by Keith Brookman. Buckle didnt even reply just walked away

Re: Buckle V Fat Boy Evans

Awayday wrote:This is not having a go at you in anyway but at everyone who says "It's still too early to say, it's still the begining of the season".

I say this every season, the points you get at this end of the season are no more or less important as the points you get at the end of the season. If anything they are probably more important now, because the better you are doing the bigger the gate receipts are. If you start off with a few loses then you will lose interest in the fan base.

As a manager he knows what players he has and he has to do the best job he can with what he has. If the players are inconsistant or you have a new team, it is up to the manager to sort them out and get the points on the board. If he can't get the points it has to be done to him and his players, but overall it is the manager who has the last say.

In Buckle's case, most of the new players he has worked with before, so it's not like he is bringing strangers into the club.

Personally, as I have said previously, Buckle isn't a "bad" manager, but he will frustrate you with some of his tactical decisions.
Absolutely, he has many times already........but if we end up in the play offs i'll be happy.

To be honest though, from performances so far, I cant see us finishing in the top half........certainly not until one or maybe 2 centre backs are replaced. I think Buckle had really wanted Branston instead or Virgo, but he doesnt seem to be doing much better at Bradford...

Rumours are that Stanley has fallen out with Buckle now....
