Re: Gary Johnson for Bristol Rovers Manager

I think it might take me longer than that. The big club billy bollocks nonsense that we put up with from Rovers fans over the summer has left a very bad taste in my mouth. I am not that forgiving a person though! (at least I acknowledge my weakness). I'm not actually wishing them ill fortune, I just feel that appointing Gary Johnson, with all his history with Rovers fans, would produce very amusing consequences.

To be honest I have had it up to here with the big clubitis that we have experienced over the past year or so. The garbage from Argyle fans that I have read since Monday has made me think that there is some justice in the world, with Argyle, Rovers and AC Northampton (with their big club billy bollocks attitudes) all languishing near the foot of the table.

Gary Johnson for Bristol Rovers Manager

It seems Gary Johnson is interested in succeeding the knobhead. Come on Higgs, appoint him. I can't wait for the reaction from Rovers fans. Blue Square here you come!!!!!!!

Arrogant, deluded tosser. If "success" means spending other people's money in a vain attempt to buy success, then you are very successful indeed. If it means actual success on the field, then I think you might just be a little off beam. Having looked at some of the garbage on Pasoti I think I can say that I hope you are Blue Square bound, since this might just curb your arrogance.

Getting real, you have a mountain to climb now. Northampton will definitely improve with a proven new manager in place. Barnet and Hereford keep on winning. And now that Rovers have sacked Buckle they can only improve too. You need a miracle.

Re: Buckle Sacked

As John Lennon said, Instant Karma's gonna get you. It's got you Paul Buckle. Karma for the way that you f***ed The Gulls about during the run up to the play offs and then during the week before the final. Karma for screwing up the team on what should have been a great day in Manchester. Karma for messing up our summer. Martin Ling has succeeded despite you.

Re: Your Best Buckle Limericks please

There was a young manager called Buckle
Who at Rovers has achieved close to nothing
His brashness and front
Made him sound like a fool
But Gulls fans can now laugh and chuckle

Edited to avoid too much offence!

Re: Torquay United vs Oxford United

brucie wrote:An absolutely appalling game of football which was not worth the entrance fee. Whilst I would not blame Atieno he couldn't play the Howe role. Couple that with your nearest two back up forward players (Stevens and Morris) who were normally at least 35 yards away from Atieno, and neither were remotely able to go past an opposing player meant that we wouldn't have scored if we had been playing until this time tomorrow.
In fact it is diffuicult to see us scoring against Plymouth either - if they score one we will lose.
On the plus side our defence looked really solid - thank god Saah got himself injured because Ellis was outstanding.
Oxford looked more likely winners at the end and hit the bar twice so we were lucky to get a point in the end.
You said two weeks ago that "points would be thin on the ground" over the next few weeks, with Howe injured. We have picked up FOUR points in the two games since then, four!! I agree that it wasn't a good game today, but to say that we wouldn't have scored until this time tomorrow is cobblers. We had two clear chances and nearly scored.

Today was an even game in which the two sides cancelled each other out. Both sides went close to scoring, and a draw was a fair result. To claim that we were "lucky" to get a point in the end is again, I am afraid, cobblers. You see everything so, so, so negatively. Maybe you do this in the hope that being negative will encourage success, I dunno, but it is depressing to see. I can't imagine what the players think about your negativity.

Funny how he now does what he used to mock me for doing....
Absolutely right Scott, the guy is an idiot.

Re: Violence on the Pitch

I'm with the goalie. It is all very well to say that the law protects the victims of violence, but we all know that it does not. The idiot who invaded the pitch got a good kicking, and thoroughly deserved it.

brucie wrote:Anyone making excuses for yesterday such as "we always lose to Accrington", "its a sh*t hole", "its cold" or anything else really is talking rubbish. The fact that the manager saw it the same way doesn't excuse the peformance anyway.
It sounded like abject surrender from start to finish.
Howe pulling the old pros trick so he could get the xmas and new year off is equally appalling.
Having watched the Barnet game I was impressed with Howe in the second half but in all honesty I am not sure about the formations we play - Howe seems completely isolated and most times the ball seems to come straight back when it goes forward - possibly a reason why we seemed to be under pressure most of the time.
Its a big loss though especially for the Plymouth match and points could be thin on the ground over the coming couple of weeks.
Having just watched the highlights, I have to say that I am struggling to see that Howe's alleged "old pro's trick" (Brucie's words, not mine) was a red card offence at all. All I could see was some highly theatrical banging on the ground by an Accrington player, clearly designed to get a fellow professional punished. Two "appalling" things here then:

First, an appalling display of theatrics by the Accrington player
Second, a truly appalling accusation by Brucie against Howe. How dare you Brucie, your comment is utterly disgraceful and demeans this forum.

A controversial figure? Not half! I'd be terrified if he came anywhere near Plainmoor. The guy is a curse, his record speaks for itself. Just ask Leeds and Cardiff fans.
