That was, without doubt, the easiest FA Cup tie I have ever witnessed. They weren't just bad, they were Benyon-got-a-hat-trick bad.

The overriding memory of that game isn't the hat trick, it's not their fans leaving by the dozen after 20 minutes, it's not the conga line, it's not even the curmudgeonly bloke sat right by the away fans who not once displayed any outward emotion. It is the Macclesfield fans who stood with us waiting for a goal kick, making us all go deadly silent, then shouting **** as the keeper connected with the ball. Absolutely hilarious and something I've not seen repeated anywhere since.

Matt.

Haha, yes Matt, the Macc fans were great that night and i think the County keeper on that night was Fon Williams who looked one of the dodgiest keepers i think i've ever seen! We really got to him.
Strangely enough it was Pope Gregory the 9th inviting me for drinks aboard his steam yacht, the saucy sue currently wintering in montego bay with the England cricket team and the Balanese Goddess of plenty.

That was if they didn't win. I once lost a HUGE bet once thanks to Peterhead conceding in the last minute and i was SO angry i rang up the club, gave them a right earful, said they were sh*t and a total disgrace and hoped they went out of business! It didn't get me my money but made me feel a lot better.

I've just remembered (Thanks to Andy's post above) that it was York who cost me half a Shilling once with a goal in the last second. Jammy bastards have never scored a better or later goal.

Mansfield in a strong position now after their win at home to Nuneaton this evening. They are in 2nd, a point off Kiddy who are on 78 points but Kiddy have played 3 games more. The Stags are also 5 points clear of 3rd place Wrexham having played the same number of games.

They must be favourites to come up and i hope they do if we stay up. Second nearest away game for me!

Mansfield are coming up!! Just got to make sure we stay in league 2 now and the second nearest away game to me will be on for next season. A matter of a few miles. They are 2nd, a point behind Kiddy but with THREE games in hand and they are 8 points clear of 3rd having played the same number of games. Win a few of their games in hand and the scabs from Mansfield will be back in league 2! Great!
