Pictures tell a thousand stories. One being our away support dwarfs theirs!!

The other 998 are about them being sh*t and they have one which is sure to be a timeless classic in the future and it's simply entitled, 'Wall Street' (literally!! ) It tells of the dark day in City's history when their away terrace, constructed of wattle and daub by early man ( also Exeter fans ) in 967 BC collapsed the other week.
Strangely enough it was Pope Gregory the 9th inviting me for drinks aboard his steam yacht, the saucy sue currently wintering in montego bay with the England cricket team and the Balanese Goddess of plenty.

On the subject of support, I have before on a thread I cannot find now compared our support with that of other clubs that I have sat with at a football match. I have concluded already that our support is miles better than that of Oldham, Rochdale and Bournemouth having sat with those fans at games.

On Tuesday night I sat with the Northampton fans and despite there being a hefty away following of maybe 350 - 400 I can categorically state that their support is effing not very good.

First of all they sung for the first 5 minutes, the loudest being what sounded like Maroon and white army. Then it tailed off. They then sang to the Chesterfield fans "is there anybody there?" as a dig at the lack of atmosphere when in fact they themselves were poor. Then they shouted abuse, there was a particularly unsavoury group of about 10 or so complete boneheads stood at the front behind the goal just shouting rubbish for the whole game including when a young lass from a local pantomime came on at half time to help with a presentation. They began singing get your t*ts out and stuff whilst she was trying to concentrate on it. It's 2013 lads, most men with brains have moved on I said under my breath.

The key thing that was so obvious is that there is no vocal encouragement for individuals. We shout words of encouragement all throughout games to most players like well done Benners or keep it going or whatever. I didn't hear ONE shout of support for an individual. Awful support. In addition to that Boothroyd brought on a sub DEEGAN his name is and about 50 fans booed him ON to the pitch! Then started singing for him to f*ck off! They then applauded his tackles and good play.

I have to say that our support is a million times better than Northampton and although we are small in number we really get stuck in considering, especially away.

Just thought I'd share that with you all.

Was at a Guernsey FC match tonight (Ryman South for those asking) v Hastings....an entertaining game.

960 fans in the stadium, with a drummer and trumpeter whipping up the support. Excellent atmosphere.

Alas, I was stuck next to a bloody Argyle supporter and, as I was wearing my Torquay shirt, has to endure mind numbing bollocks from him for 90 minutes!!

I bloody hate Argyle!!

2-0 to Guernsey against the league leaders in the end by the way.
Entertaining game and two scrambled goal line goals scored.

You should have took some advice from me Scotty. From my signature at the bottom of my posts.

I'd loved to have seen his face if you used that on him. :)
