The League Two relegation battle

I can't see why any of us should be worried as a glance at the table and forthcoming fixtures makes it obvious who will be going down. The only disappointed people will be those on here who have been forecasting all season our relegation and will find they have got it dramatically wrong! I just wish I could be more balanced in my life and have gloomy and despondent days!

i really dont understand why people think nico would die for the club. he threw his toys out and asked for a transfer when buckle dropped him.

players that would die for clubs are few and far between and dont think any of the current squad fit the bill. they have more likely got comfortable and dont want to move house

Rather than "burying my head in the sand" (as a "rosetinter" that must be what I'm doing according to you), I'd rather believe that I'm looking at the table, seeing that we still have hope, seeing that we have a HUGE game coming up and believing that we can still do it, we can still stay up.

I'm not stupid (well I am, but that's beside the point), I can see the danger we are in (as are about six other clubs), but until it is impossible for us to stay up I will keep believing.

Some really good sensible posts on here despite the difference of opinions. Let's stop all 'in fighting' until Tuesday night...Might be difficult as most of us like to post on here to ease our concerns and get support from others (or not, in some cases)...If we win, it's going to create an unbelievable but exciting tension, but that's what it's all about. Putting your 'feel good' factor in a bunch of guys you probably will never meet seems weird but that's what's happening !!

I agree with Scott and Coley. There have been far too many negative posters at a time when we should be generating positivity. And I'll repeat here, if you'll permit me, what I said on another thread:

Alan Knill is right. We can win our last three games. Whether we actually will is another matter. Because it has come down to this: if we win on Tuesday we can stay up; if we lose, we'll almost certainly go down. But in order to maximise our chances the team needs everyone's support.

So it's time for those (you know who you are) who have been whinging moaning and complaining about the team and about the players to shut up. The players themselves cannot be happy about the situation the team is in. They must be as unhappy as anyone. But all that must now be forgotten, because it's time now for hard graft and determination to win.

It's time for everyone who cares about the club to ask themselves if they really want BSP football here next season, or League Two football. If you're really not bothered, if you want to go on whinging and criticising, please go and do it somewhere else, nobody needs your negativity at this crucial time, so please stay away from this forum until the season's over.

Otherwise, turn up at Plainmoor on Tuesday and shout your hearts out for your team.

Sadly it's a case of not what we want but what we will get. We don't have a say in it i'm afraid.

But we will have a say in it, Andy, as will anybody who wants to have a say, by going to Plainmoor on Tuesday and shouting your heads off in support of your team.

It's quite simple. You can have a negative effect by being critical and denigratory, or a positive effect by being supportive and encouraging. And right now, the club and the team need supporters, not critics.

So if anybody wants to be negative and critical at this crucial time, could they please think again, and wait until the season's over?

The thing is, even if i COULD get to Plainmoor on tuesday night which i can't, i would only give 100% vocal support and commitment, because like you say, the lads only need encouragement on the pitch and not negativity. However, if they've had a shocker then fans are more than entitled to come on here after the game if they feel like it and complain. It doesn't affect the game and even IF the players chose to read some of the stuff on here then they'll be getting a fairly accurate reflection of what fans think of them and if they let it affect them then they would be like me, bi-polar so where's the harm in that? I know exactly where you're coming from but i just don't think we need sanitise all things TUFC just because our players have got themselves in the brown stuff. If the unthinkable happens and Barnet turn us over with us playing like a bag of cement then most people aren't going to be polite about it on here afterwards and thinking positive for the Morecambe game are they? I've said it before, you are right in that everyone to a man should be supportive and vocal if they can during the 90 but when they get home they can post whatever view they have. Me thinking negative is not going to make the players any worse, it doesn't matter ultimately. The only thing that matter is those 11 players doing the business on tuesday and there's not much we can do to influence this match for the positive OR for the negative. It's out of our hands whatever we think.

I understand what you're saying Andy, but I disagree. I believe that what is said away from Plainmoor at other times apart from the duration of matches and on forums such as this can have a postive or a negative effect, if only a small one, but it could make all the difference. If something gets out into the ether, it travels, and at this crucial time the team doesn't need negativity..

Ok no probs Mick. I just happen to think that the team have had some incredible voiciferous support this season, at least away anyway and yet these same players still can't seem to use this as motivation and encouragement to get an extra 5% or so out of themselves so under normal circumstances i would agree with you but i honestly don't believe many of our squad give a toss about us or our club. That is just my opinion and i cannot come up with any other explanation for their consistently limp showings away so i'll stick with that. Knill has got a mammoth job on to be honest, trying to motivate players who don't want to be motivated and for the others, trying to drill out of them the docility that Ling instilled in them over many many matches and get their energy levels so high again without resorting to red bull prematch!

It is something which we'll have to disagree on for now but i do accept that generally speaking you are right.

Matt, if you worried with the number of posts i have done then you are in serious need of a hobby espcially as the season is coming to an end.

In terms of facts there are plenty of facts but how about this one for you. We are 2nd from bottom if the fl which means relegation if that is our final league position.

heres another! the majority of goals conceeded have involed teams attacking our left back and crossing the ball in.

heres another! Manse hasnt played aswell as last season and hasnt scored as many goals.

This is not, by any means, the first time you have misunderstood something I have posted. Either you're doing it deliberately, in which case, well done to you, you've managed to find a greater waste of time than watching paint dry. If it's not deliberate, then I'm very much afraid that you're not quite bright enough to be worth the effort.
