well, obviously you are right.Southampton Gull wrote:
I realise you're a bit dense (prerequisite for someone with your accent) but did I say you did? You said we were both wrong, my reply was that I hadn't given a definitive answer so I'd give up on this one if I was you..................

Not happy about this. Under Ling I have witnessed some of the worst football we have ever played with no sign of any change, despite poor performance after poor performance. Taylor has proven he also doesn't have a clue what he is doing either to support Ling. I accept Martin was ill and wish him all the best but I just feel it would be best if the club went in a different direction now.
If we get off to a poor start next season then all the pressure will arise immediately, and can he handle that? We can't have have a repeat situation in the league again of which unfortunately, if Ling is in charge I fear will occur.
It pains me to say it, but I will be seriously considering cutting down on games I go to if he is in charge.

Cant believe people want Ling back, the football is poor and he has no back up plan
I couldnt stand seeing him leaning against the dugout of another season
(unless he becomes 'ill' again) - laughable!!
The man has no right to return

He deserves a chance. He got us into the play-offs. This season wasn't great but he was ill. He deserves a chance.

This season was poor long before he got ill. The performances early on against Southend, Rotherham and Wycombe were so poor I could hardly believe it. He even acknowledged the standard of these performances but nothing changed, that's when he lost my confidence.

We sold Olejnik, O'Kane and Ellis. Mansell, Lathrope and Nicholson have all had bad seasons, what the hell did you expect?

Taking the last 32 league games Ling was in charge there were 8 wins, 13 draws and 11 defeats giving a win ratio of 25%, which demonstrates that his results were in steep decline and this excludes the defeats in the play offs and the FA Cup game against Harrogate. Ling is shot.
