With a long few months until the footy season kicks off again i'm thinking i might try a new sport to go and watch and see what it's like. I go to the horse racing frequently and the odd cricket game but i've never considered going to watch any other sport. I've looked at the Sheffield Steelers ice hockey team but apparently they've finished for the season and i'm thinking of going to watch the Sheffield Eagles play Barrow at the Don Valley on the 19th.
Other than that, can you guys out there recommend or think of anything that might be worth going to see and to give a try? If you say wrestling or boxing then go and wash your mouths out with soap and water, i'd rather video myself on the toilet during gastro-intestinal distress and watch it back with a curry and a pint than go to wrestling or boxing OR darts, i'll chuck that one in too.
If you can help i'd be mucho appreciato'd. :~D
Cheers fellow Gulls!
Strangely enough it was Pope Gregory the 9th inviting me for drinks aboard his steam yacht, the saucy sue currently wintering in montego bay with the England cricket team and the Balanese Goddess of plenty.
Take a pilgrimage to Le Mans? If you'd asked last year, you could have gone to the Lacrosse World Cup in Manchester. One of the European legs of the WRC. British GP. Hill climbing at Goodwood. Follow the BTCC around the country.
Only just realising how much motor sport there is about.

Matt.
Le Mans is the greatest even to go to. I went in 2000 though half was work and half was party. Great 4 days. doesn't cost anything (I went for free) lots of music and beer.
I watch either motor racing. i tend to go for the more amateur versions though. The best thing i liked was the new womens super league football. You may well be surprised at how good they have become. I follow Bristol Academy myself.

Agreed, I used to go to Newton Abbot to watch my brother-in-law, been to Wimbledon and Ringwood banger tracks aswell, he raced both Bangers and saloon stocks. Did you ever race at Newton Abbot?

I guess the work half was a drive in an early diesel Audi prototype?
