League 2 transfers and news
Just thought i'd post this as a place to post any news about other league 2 clubs and also about transfers, who has gone where etc.
I was surprised to see York winger Matty Blair go to Fleetwood on a free, i reckon Nigel Worthington will be looking to create a good solid side for next season and would be looking to be up there so he'd be disappointed not to hang onto Blair. Fleetwood could be genuine promotion contenders though so Blair would get a crack at that and more cash anyway.

Strangely enough it was Pope Gregory the 9th inviting me for drinks aboard his steam yacht, the saucy sue currently wintering in montego bay with the England cricket team and the Balanese Goddess of plenty.
Not L2 any more, but apparantly Aldershot have made 13 players redundant as their administration takes hold. Names haven't been released, but Olly Lancashire, Troy Brown and Danny Hylton have all tweeted that they are now unemployed.
Always thought Hylton was a half decent player, wouldn't be upset to see him here if we didn't get Benyon. And I wonder if that list will include Craig Stanley?
Sad state of affairs for the Shots though, always had a soft spot for them

John McCombe signs for Mansfield. Good move for the Stags that one and i would have been ok with to see him at Plainmoor as a replacement for Saah. Good bit of business for them i'd say.

So Chesterfield make their 3rd signing bagging Jimmy Ryan from Scunny. This after signing Eoin Doyle of Hibs. So they ask the council to write off a million quids worth of debt because they are struggling then they go and sign all these players who won't be cheap. ABSOLUTE W*NKERS I HATE THEM.

Chris Zebroski has today joined Newport. Good signing for them if he can stay out of trouble. Still would've taken him back here but hopefully the players AK brings in will more than make up for it.

Jamie Cureton has signed for Cheltenham. Cheltenham must think he'll be value for money, but how long before he begins to show his age (37)? Many Excretia fans feel he already passed his use-by date. If Cheltenham have made an error of judgement here, will they struggle to make another promotion challenge?

21 goals in a pretty ordinary side last year, he can't be all that bad (can he?)
Zola to Aberdeen from Burton is a decent move. Now there is a proper unit of a striker.
Matt.

Just read in the local rag that Chesterfield have just returned from 'their training camp in Portugal'. Nice for a club that has no money and who have signed 403 players whilst asking the local council to write off a £1 mil debt because they can't pay it. Maybe if they went on a training camp to Skegness then they could begin repaying some of their debt before muggins here and the rest of the Chesterfield council tax payers get lumbered with it. Someone burn their ground down but obviously make sure nobody is in it first please.

Meanwhile, little old Torquay continue to play within the rules of the game and continue to struggle to buy players due to little money, which in trun is due to us paying our bills.AustrianAndyGull wrote:Just read in the local rag that Chesterfield have just returned from 'their training camp in Portugal'. Effing gits - why can't I get all my debt written off by the local council!?

Lewis Montrose signs for York. Why? I watched him at Chesterfield a few years back when he was on loan and he was dreadful, he was dreadful for Wycombe and Gillingham and now he signs for York. I tipped York to do well but on looking at who they have brought in and released i'm not so sure. Jarvo has signed we know but if he doesn't get the service he is hardly likely to be prolific and offers little else. Craig Clay from Chesterfield is an unknown, he is 21 but done nothing to show he is not anything other than a conference player at best, they have signed unknown Estonian winger Sandur Puri who will probably be mullered into submission by uncompromising league 2 defenders and keeper Chris Kettings is inexperienced. The only positive I can see is the addition of Wes Fletcher. Not for me York I don't think. Mansfield are dark horses.
