Congrats to Andy Murray

Post by AustrianAndyGull »

Hate tennis, not too fond of British sportsmen either but I have to say a massive congratulations and well done to Andy Murray for winning Wimbledon. A footballer can ponce around for 90 minutes hide away and get paid and still moan whereas Murray has only himself to make achieve things. If he fails that's it, no hiding behind 10 other players if you can't be arsed. He plays high intensity every other day near enough for hours and the footballers toss it off and whinge about playing too much football. Tennis is the big winner today and Andy an even bigger one and a true sporting hero. Well done.
Strangely enough it was Pope Gregory the 9th inviting me for drinks aboard his steam yacht, the saucy sue currently wintering in montego bay with the England cricket team and the Balanese Goddess of plenty.

Completely agree Andy, it's a fantastic achievement considering the level of expectation placed upon him by the media. That and he out classed the no. 1 player in the world.

Congrats Murray!

im not a massive tennis fan ,although i dont mind casually watching it, but yesterday and friday nights games i just couldnt tear myself away from the tv.

andy murray has gradually grown on us in the last few years and he may not be everyones cup of tea but there is no doubting the guys dedication, hard work, commitment, focus, desire, sacrifice, skill and talent.

he beat someone who in recent years has been an absolute machine, the number 1 ranked player. its one thing winning the tournament but he beat the best of the best in the high pressured situation of a final.

there are not many people who could cope with the amount of pressure and expectation murray has had piled on him in recent times and it has become more and more intensified.

andy murrays status now and what he has achieved in the last year with 2 grand slams and olympic gold is a personification of one of my favourite quotes from my one of my personal idols muhammad ali-

"Champions aren't made in gyms, champions are made from something they have deep inside them - a desire, a dream, a vision. They have to have last-minute stamina, they have to be a little faster, they have to have the skill and the will. But the will must be stronger than the skill."
muhammad ali

well done andy.
You are my torquay, my only torquay, you make me happy when skies are grey, you'll never know, just, how much i love you, so don't take my torquay away.
