If we didn't already have Yeoman and Sullivan I would be happy to see Rendell come in as one of three strikers but I'm not convinced of him coming in as our first choice.
Having said that, knowing how well Rendell and Benyon performed together last time around I wouldn't be surprised if given a season together they couldn't build a really good partnership, the question is whether it is too big a risk.
As for those suggesting Luton want rid because they don't think he's good enough for them I would suggest it was more a case of them having a player who wants another go at a higher level and so they have let him come down here for a few days to have a go. Much like we have done in the past with players going on trial to Championship and Premier League clubs.

No you are wrong. Rendell was one of four players listed (including Rowe-Turner) as being "surplus to requirements"

if you go on www.ytfc.net there is a youtube interview with Gary Johnson and he makes a throw away comment about Danny Seaborne, sounds to me that we've offered him something but Yeovil want him so we're probably stuffed.
Rowe-Turner played for Burton on trial last night.
Yeah - nice the way he said it as well! Dick!royalgull wrote:if you go on http://www.ytfc.net there is a youtube interview with Gary Johnson and he makes a throw away comment about Danny Seaborne, sounds to me that we've offered him something but Yeovil want him so we're probably stuffed.

I have always thought Johnson was a short arsed jumped up arrogant tosser - and that interview confirmed it.
Good luck to Yeovil but I wonder if he will be so cocksure of himself when they get relegated with a record low points total.

At work so cannot listen: what does he say?
He laughed whilst saying "I think he would rather sign for Yeovil than Torquay"
Knob. Was not that long ago they were non-league and now he think they are a Billy Big Ballocks!
Their natural level is League 2 / bottom of League 1 so are not much bigger than us in reality.
I agree on current standings that (without doubt) Yeovil is more appealing destination but the way he smugly said it (and he general attitude throughout the interview) illustrates to me that he is a complete tool.

When hasn't Gary Johnson come across as a complete tool? Never struck me as one to be gracious in defeat, for example.

Jesus Norah, I've never seen anyone so upset at losing a meaningless, early season friendly. He's insane, surely? Sure, they had a few chances, but it was decent defending from our lads and some dreadful forward play from them which kept them to nil. Hardly as he seems to be suggesting, the work of the devil. As for the Seabourne comment, I think he underestimates us and overestimates them in equal measure. As Richinns says, it wasn't all that long ago that Yeovil were a village team and, given their precarious position at present (they're in the same division, on merit, allegedly, as Leeds United), it may not be all too long until they regain their rightful position, looking over their collective shoulders at the Non-League trapdoor. Their fall from grace will certainly be expedited if others at YTFC share the same attitude displayed by Johnson in that interview. I've got news for you, Gary: In terms of genuine footballing achievement and progress, the journey is far from finished. Indeed, it has only just begun.
Matt.

The Yeovil support seem to have short memories, GJ didn't want to be there.

Johnson is getting some moaning in now as his team will give him plenty to moan at in the level they are playing. Also if they have a shocker and way adrift at the bottom of the division around xmas they will probably have to sack him.

Haha at all the raging bitterness because he said he'd rather sign for Yeovil than Torquay. As would anyone. Championship or League 2? Hmmmmmmmm
Yeovil will absolutely finish 24th this season which would still put them one division higher than us. Get over it.
