Went into the Plainmoor office today and there will be no more advanced tickets on sale. For those without tickets it will be pay at the turnstiles on the day with the gates opening at 1.45pm.

As long as only one ticket per voucher has been sold, there should be at least another 2500 who will be admitted through the cash turnstiles. Turn up early then to ensure your favourite spot in the Popside/Family Stand/Grandstand/Enclosure.

My viewpoint is the club have gone about this ticket arrangement half cocked. Then there's the likelihood of ticketless Crawley fans gaining entry to all parts of the ground and the potential for crowd trouble that could follow.

Huge own goal by the club potentially causing a loss of income and also as Trojan says a risk of trouble inside the ground.

I fail to see why local fans cannot purchase tickets during the course of this week. Come on TUFC explain why this is so difficult to do. Not only will it cause chaos on the day but the lost revenue from Boots and Laces as a result of people having to leave early to queue for entry will also hit the Club.

Sort it out !!!

Bad decision.

I just hope that they have some turnstiles for ticket holders then POTG people. I don't want to get there to find myself having to join a huge queue again!

Leaving the pub early, haven't given that a thought. It means changing the habit of a lifetime. I have a ticket so will gain entry. Trouble could happen if fair weather fans are in "my spot" and it will go terminal if "my space" is taken by Crawley fans. :red:  :red:

It's shambolic and something I thought we wouldn't see under the current regime. I don't know of any fans, apart from Crawley's ticketless plastics who will be happy with the arrangement. If they just allowed fans to buy tickets up until say close of business on Friday it would solve a lot of problems likely to be faced on Saturday. Possibly one of the biggest days in our history and the club shoot themselves in the foot, shameful.

By "fairweather" fans, do you mean those who live in the surrounding area that never come along other than for the "big" games?

It does say today on the back page in the paper version of the Herald Express and I quote :

"United are expected to make a further announcement on the ticket situation in the next 24 hours."

Nothing to that effect yet on the official site.

It doesn't mean you Scott or Westy or any genuine exile.

I should add that when I suddenly turned up again after an exile, I got unappreciative looks.

My exile was known as Trojan : the Hollywood years.

Long story and a boring one. :)

You can tell him on Saturday over a few Magners :scarf:

Fingers crossed the Club sees sense and offers tickets on general sale, although knowing our luck, it'll be news of a further allocation for Crawley (which isn't that bad an idea anyway).

Yeah, of course. Problem is, when I launch into one of my stories it has the effect of emptying a place quicker than a bouncer can do it at closing time.

Landlords are not best pleased when I walk in during early doors busy periods.

You're never around long enough to finish the story, always needing a visit to the little boys room every ten minutes :)

Your damned if you do and damned if you don't.

To be fair, it was always a tricky one to call in terms of ticket arrangements, what with it being a non glamour tie against non leaguers but possibly one of the most important. Into that mix throw an unknown quantity of away fans.

Being exiled, I hope and don't expect them to change course now and offer tickets up until Friday as was suggested above as I'd be rather miffed and wouldn't bother making 2 x 400 mile round trips within a week.

I'm exiled too, still don't see why they couldn't go on general sale until the end of the week. You could call the club, pay for the tickets over the phone and collect them on the day, unless you happen to live near Crawley I can't see the problem.

If thats possible, great.

Club havnt announced that though, and when a mate of mine went up to get his ticket prior to the Gills game armed with my membership details to see if he could get me one, they didn't tell him I could have phoned up either.

Thats another gripe though, the membership scheme , supposedly aimed at the exiles needs to have some proper direction in terms of ordering tickets for such events. Come to think of it, the whole admin side is rather un customer focussed. I ordered £50 worth of gear from the club shop at the end of December and I'm still waiting and 3 emails later no response. Its like they dont want the money.
