Get over yourself pal and lighten up. So, tell me where are Ginsters based again, what is it they make and who did they sponsor? As for my dig at the Cornish, well I think you just made my point for me.
Which point have I made for you? The one about being a hippy, the one about women having beards, or the one about being a pikey thief. I don't believe pointing out that the club you were talking about is not in the geographic location you stated proves any of those points. Prick.
Also, whilst yes, Ginsters is a Cornish company, based in Cornwall, I don't know any Cornish people who would choose to eat Ginsters. You probably think all Germans are Nazis as well.

Clearly I've touched a nerve. A tongue in cheek dig at the Cornish and you go all pikey and aggressive. I apologise if I've reminded you that the wife needs a trim now and then. Now can you stop hijacking the thread with your abuse and calm down?

Absolutely right. Sadly, the original point is lost. Perhaps it should be moved to the Banter Board? Just a reminder that the point of the thread was the statement from the Greeks Chief Executive that Exeter City is "debt free". This statement is an affront to all the businesses who lost money when the Greeks walked away from their debts (like Argyle).
God there are some small minded people posting here. I do not live in Cornwall but I am still blinkered enough to realise there are parts of Cornwall which are the nicest in the Country. It has some pikey areas (like anywhere) but in all honesty even those are better than Torquay Town centre which has become overrun with complete pikey scumbags.
Kernowgull wrote:So, two Devon clubs run up 22 million in debts, ruining many a local business, and you have a pop at Cornwall. Nice work, prick.
Well Kernow ..... originating from darkest Redruth, I'm with you. But ...... er, um ........ didn't Truro City also go into adminstration owing a few Cornish dollars ????
It seems a shame that the humourless idiots have had this thread moved. The serious point about the fraudulent behaviour of our local rivals has been missed because one or two of the cornish apologists have thrown a hissy fit. It would appear that inbreeding is still popular. Can we no longer poke fun at our rivals without an oversensitive pikey throwing his bricks?

Dead right DTG. Life's too short to be bothered about having a dig, whichever side of the Tamar you're from. Saw Jethro in Exeter last night and he was poking fun at Devonians AND his native Cornish AND the Welsh AND the French. Very, very funny.
Re the serious point about so-called fraudulent behaviour, stones and glasshouses come to mind because after the Roberts fiasco, my understanding is that if it wasn't for the intervention and backing of Paul & Thea Bristow, we were well down the track towards bankruptcy. Personally, I want all three of our Devon sides to be successful ..... as long as City and Argyle are below us in the league.

Sorry, but this is not a fair comparison. Roberts bought Torquay on the never never from Bateson and then tried to pay Bateson by charging the club vast "consultancy fees" (for what, I can't imagine, the guy clearly had nothing to offer the club). It was these "consultancy fees" that put the club in the mire. With the Greeks and the Gargs, their financial difficulties were caused by spending money that the clubs didn't have on players, ground improvements etc. And the biggest difference is that the Gulls paid their debts (with money from Paul & Thea), the Greeks and the Gargs did not. Torquay did not leave local businesses out of pocket, the Greeks and the Gargs did. No stones and greenhouses at Plainmoor, not at all.

Ah - thanks for putting me right on this Gullintwoplaces. There were so many rumours flying around at the time but I don't recall hearing about the Roberts/Bateson arrangement. Sounds exactly the sort of trick Roberts would pull. What a crook (allegedly).
Cornwall is a special place, Celtic heritage and mystery. It is the best place in England. I worked there for a while and although I did find some people a bit odd (I am myself so mustn't grumble) I loved it and have been visiting for 15 years. Devon to me has a different feel, more streetwise and more accessible and although I still love it to bits, Cornwall is just weird and that is why I love it. I know this has nothing to do with the original thread but I just though i'd offer outsiders microscopic view of the two counties.
Strangely enough it was Pope Gregory the 9th inviting me for drinks aboard his steam yacht, the saucy sue currently wintering in montego bay with the England cricket team and the Balanese Goddess of plenty.
