I'm watching Spurs v Tromso. It would be more interesting watching a tray of frozen fish fingers cooking in the oven.
Strangely enough it was Pope Gregory the 9th inviting me for drinks aboard his steam yacht, the saucy sue currently wintering in montego bay with the England cricket team and the Balanese Goddess of plenty.
Started watching the Bundesliga highlights every week (monday nights itv 10pm) and it is so much more exciting than the PL. Seems to average about 3/4 goals a game! Crazy stuff, and the grounds look awesome for atmosphere. REALLY want to grab a Dortmund game soon on the Subtribune. Think that'll be awesome.

Well it's a Friday night footballing fear fest in a few days. Good luck to England against Montenegro although I heard Paddy Power on talksport talking about the game and saying it would be a shock if England didn't win this. Really? Would it really be a shock? I don't think so, it would be very disappointing but not a shock. Also England are 4/11 to win and I think i'll take the Happytorq betting advice on this and leave well alone. Seriously? 4/11?! We'll wait and see.
For me Friday is the biggest game Austria have played for many years. It is a neck and neck fight for a play off spot between us and Sweden who we beat earlier in the campaign at home. Basically Sweden have got Germany at home last game and we have got the Faroes away and although I take nothing for granted against the Faroes given their shock 1-0 win over us in the 90's, i'd say that if we beat Sweden on Friday then we are neck and neck on points and then we'd have to match them on last game which you would think we would do at least.
A draw and on Friday and we'd need to beat the Faroes and hope Sweden lose at home to the Germans last game which is a possibility but a loss and it's game over. Exciting times indeed. Can't wait for Friday AND Saturday now!

well, my betting advice was to swerve short-priced aways, and England are at home, so perhaps not.AustrianAndyGull wrote:Also England are 4/11 to win and I think i'll take the Happytorq betting advice on this and leave well alone. Seriously? 4/11?! We'll wait and see.
4/11 is still a piss-poor price though.

Sweden 2 Austria 1 - World Cup dream shattered within the space of 45 minutes. Deeply deeply upset and ashamed.

Sorry to hear that, Andy. Never mind - I understand Austria are hot favourites for the Yodelling World CupAustrianAndyGull wrote:Sweden 2 Austria 1 - World Cup dream shattered within the space of 45 minutes. Deeply deeply upset and ashamed.

I've been doing some yodelling of my own tonight Tomo, a few tears shed too. Really felt it tonight for some reason. I just hope Torquay can give me a lift tomorrow. I don't mind playing well and losing but God help Knill if we approach this game ala Martin Ling.

Why are you ashamed? Austria were never going to get there, unfortunately.AustrianAndyGull wrote:Sweden 2 Austria 1 - World Cup dream shattered within the space of 45 minutes. Deeply deeply upset and ashamed.

I'll be the judge of whether I should feel ashamed of my nation or not, not you.Nick wrote: Why are you ashamed? Austria were never going to get there, unfortunately.

I'm perfectly calm thanks.
"Austria were never going to get there, unfortunately" was an incredibly negative statement with no true basis either.
How about if I say that Torquay were never going to get to league 2 anyway after losing the play off final against Stevenage? It would make you feel a million dollars wouldn't it and make you thankful that you just got there.
See where i'm coming from with this?

well were you expecting them to make the finals? if you were then yes its a shame, but looking from where I am then I didn't expect them to so there's no shame in running it so close. Just me though, you clearly see it differently.
Your second point is invalid as we were L2 at the time
Out of interest, and I know it was covered on another thread, but were you actually born out there or here?
