What a ridiculous statement.ferrarilover wrote:I wasn't going to say anything more about this game, but Sky Arts has lightened my mood.
We aren't the third worst side in the Football League, not by a damn sight. Wycombe are 9th and we are comfortably as good as they are in every aspect. Our first XI would have won the game today. Poke wouldn't have hesitated and cost us two goals and Downer (or O'Connor) wouldn't have allowed two of the three.
If ever two matches proved my point about there being different ways to lose a football match, it was the last two.
With our number one and a decent loanee defender to come back next weekend, it's only a matter of formality that we will begin climbing the league. We might not go too far, but we'll be well clear of the drop zone 6 weeks from now.
I think we'll see a striker come in on loan to do the Ball job (except he'll actually do it, rather than whatever it was Ball spent his time doing. Not a lot, from where I was standing). Harding and Benyon linked well today, but never managed to exploit a relatively deep and tight Wycombe back line (they must have been deep, Bennerz wasn't flagged all afternoon. A first?)
Matt.
Wasn't Bodin 80 quid?!?!.....AustrianAndyGull wrote:![]()

I wish! We'd have no cash left by next week if it were left to me, i'd just fritter it away on big signings and lavish matchday experiences for the fans. What CAN I get for £80 though?![]()
It paid for my day out yesterday anyway. I spent £80 all in for that.
I agree, it is not good to hear people at matches having a go at a young lad starting out in the professional game. It wasn't a good three minutes from Courtney yesterday, it happens. But I think most can see he has potential. If you know him, make sure he keeps his chin up, ignores the 'terrace experts', if he heard them, and here's hoping he continues working hard to get to and be as good as he can be, with the opportunities to show it.COURTNEYtorquay11 wrote:think it was matt that posted about courtney cameron

Don't think you missed anything Andy. My reason for including Chappell was that he seemed to be part of our attacks, particularly in the second half down our end, his movement helped enable us to build pressure, he linked quite well with Hawley (who probably should have been further forward) and showed some glimpses that there may be an end product to his play. Not a lot came off for him unfortunately, and it wasn't the best I have seen him play. Maybe my perception was influenced by previous performances, and maybe your expectation levels were in the same way?AustrianAndyGull wrote:![]()
Haha, no worries Smiffs!![]()
On another note, I see that Chappell made it into most peoples top 3 for yesterdays performance and i'm just wondering if I missed something and why the reasons are that he was rated as high. It's purely out of interest, it is funny how fans see performances differently and I'm wondering if I may have missed something?
Well I use 350 words when I could use 10.FavGull wrote:And thanks Yellowsmiffy for validating my match thoughts. I always say why say something in 10 words when you can use 50!
I hope this means I am wise before my years also!
