FA Cup 1st round draw

Post by AustrianAndyGull »

First of all when is this taking place? I've looked at the FA Cup website but can't find it. Useless piece of crap.

I presume we'd want to avoid non league opposition this year?

Strangely enough it was Pope Gregory the 9th inviting me for drinks aboard his steam yacht, the saucy sue currently wintering in montego bay with the England cricket team and the Balanese Goddess of plenty.

The third round draw will take place just after the second round ties, which are due to be played the 7th December.

The first round dates are the weekend of the 9 November, however the draw for that round probably won't take place until the 26 October as that is when the fourth preliminary round is scheduled to take place.

FWIW, Guernsey FC, of Isthmian League Division One South fame, got to the second round of qualifying before being knocked out 3-2 by Dover, who are in the conference south.

I don't think we've really threatened the 3rd round of the FA Cup since Buckle was here, so I won't worry about it until such time as we pull a miracle and win two games in the same competition to get there. At which point we'll no doubt get drawn away at Darlington and lose, just before they get Man Utd away in the 4th round.

My mistake happy, I meant to put 1st round not 3rd! I've amended it now but hey, it's also good to be ultra positive!

The FA bar 'new' clubs from the Vase/Trophy/Cup the first season, then the Cup in the Second Season so Darlo aren't allowed in the cup yet.

I used to prefer it when 1st two rounds were regionalised. I used to enjoy away trips to fairly close non-league clubs.
