That's hardly fair. What's it to do with those who do go that others do not? 2200 or so of us make the effort to go to the match every other week. Why should they suffer because 99.8% of the Torbay public don't want to go to Plainmoor? I don't want to go to Glastonbury, but that doesn't mean that those who do choose to go should be treated to dreadful music and awful weather. Your argument is spiteful and not really based in anything.

A Mansfield reporter on Twitter reckons Beevers (their defender) was bitten on the arm. Seems pretty un-Benyon-like to me.

I'm going to stick my head above the parapet and say I didn't think we played that bad today, (especially given how we have been playing). In patches, we were by far the better team especially when we kept the ball on the deck. I would even say that if Pearce hadn't been sent off, we may have won the match.

I thought Bodin played well, nearly scored in the 1st half but his shot came off the inside of the post and out for a goal kick.

Azzez had a glorious chance at the start of the 2nd half which looked easier to score than miss.

Atmosphere was better today, but still needs improvement. Today highlights the need for a drummer as Mansfield's drummer played for most of the game and got their support going.

The biggest cheer was for Craig when he came on. It was unfortunate that he didn't get a fair crack as shortly after, Pearce was sent off.

McCourt looked useful and with more game time he should improve.

Officials - the less said about them the better. Heavily biased towards Mansfield. Gave them virtually everything.

At half time I considered going home and watching endless re-runs of coronation street and I hate that show, second half an improvement in desire and tempo from us, but not quality.

If we carry on playing football like that, then no danger of the pitch wearing out, hoof after hoof to no one, to be fair to Hawley and Benyon, they are players who need the ball played into to feet, what chance did they have with that service.

Shame Pearce got sent off, no real chance for NC to shine, did play a couple of very good balls though.

Once again we got the tactics wrong Mansfield had three giant centre halves four in midfield one in the hole and two up front. Mansell and McCourt were over ran at times and we were hitting the front in the air and the ball kept coming back.It was not until Craig came on that we started to control the midfield, it was good to see him back playing. After the ten minutes he had with eleven on the pitch he did enough to show the MANAGER that three in midfield can work. Mansell. McCourt and Craig looked a lot stronger with the added difference that Craig can pass the ball. I think we would have gone on to win had Pearce not been sent off. The manager should never have taken off Bodin as he was our most dangerous player. Both Hawley,Azeez struggled today along with Chapell I thought that this was a bad decision to take him off. Glad we escaped with a point.
I read in a Portsmouth paper Scott Bevan is back playing for Hawks in Hampshire he's captain.

Rubbish, truly, truly rubbish. The first half was one of the most boring 45 minutes I have seen at Torquay United, it was more entertaining watching two Mansfield fans getting ready to get into scrap in the away end. The only exciting part of the game in the first half, was the link up between Nicholson, Mansell and Bodin on the left wing, but that was it. No team deserved the win, both were very disappointing and a 0-0 draw was the correct score line. Everyone was so under average today, it was ridiculous. Ricey was ok, Tongue alright, so was the new lad alongside Mansell. Azzy was hopeless, but the worst player for me by far was Hawley, he had nothing right. His touch was like one of an elephant, he is not strong enough, no pace and he is constantly offside which does my head in. The Pearce sending off was a no brainer, second yellow, rightly sent off.

I stood with my girlfriend today and we swapped ends again in the popside, but finally we had a drum in the middle of the pop, actually, we had two! But, can anyone actually play the bleeding thing if we have it!? Was a joke. We can't seem to create an atmosphere without a drum and when we have TWO, the same thing happens. Yes of course, the attitude of the game has a part to play because the game was boring and therefore there is no incentive to sing. But this has got to stop and just get behind the player! I'll be back in the middle for the game against Pompey, lets sort it out!

Just had a thought, Azeez is thriving on be wing so keep him here and allow bodin a more free role up front with hawley. Just a thought and I'm predicting 3-2 win

A look on their forum suggests that they play like that every week and they absolutely love it. They're three points off top spot and that today was how they've played all year (and all year last season). At the risk of sounding like a bit like a Plymouth or Rovers fan, this division really is full of a load of old shit and the difference between top and bottom (in general terms) doesn't seem to be anything to do with ability or performance. Get the rub of the green with a referee or have a shot which hits the post and goes in rather than rolling across the goal line and going out for a goal kick and you find yourselves at the top rather than at the bottom despite playing equally dreadful "football".

I actually thought we we were (up to the sending off) the better team - that was actually the best I have seen us play in the three home games I have seen so far.
Knill changed the formation and we looked alot more solid at the back and were not overrun in midfield. That formation would work well if we had Rene Howe up front but Hawley isn't the answer as he continually lost the ball.
O'connor looked a class act - when Downes is fit I would try and extend his loan and play three centre halves.
I thought McCourt did well also.
My first view of Azeez - he wasn't great but looks to have more than Callum Ball.
Mansfield were truly terrible - how on earth are they in the top half of the table?
Yes there were things wrong but in patches we played some nice football.
Trouble is with Pearce suspended we are nailed on for another defeat on Tuesday and then have another really hard game on Saturday.

I agree with Brucie - that was not as bad a performance as many are making out. Pearce had a bad game and with such an early booking there was always a good chance he would get a second but until then we had had the better of the game and created by far the better chances.

Its not going for us at the moment but it will turn when we get a fully fit squad available.
