Season Ticket

Post by sam_ »

Right, so I've got a season ticket, and I'm on holiday this week, missing the Pompey game (gutted). But it seems like a waste of a ticket. Is there a system for selling/giving people your season ticket for a game? If not, wonder what people would think of it. Obviously an average home game wouldn't be in high demand, but saves a bit of cash for people who don't have a season ticket. Opinions?

I THINK that the ticket is for the exclusive use of the purchaser (or his nominated beneficiary), so transferring it to someone else would violate the terms of the contract of use. However, in the real world, you just give it to a mate and no one is any the wiser.
There is a Premier League club which is affiliated with a third party ticket merchant (one of those God-awful internet touts, allowing people to hawk tickets for many times the face value), which the fans absolutely hate.
Arsenal operate a system where fans can sell their ST allowance for up to the price of the a standard "buy on the day" ticket for the relevant area. This, I'm told, is extremely popular.
There we see then, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

Matt.
