On the injury front, yes some of these were done in games, most in training, however it's the route causes of the injuries to Poke, Bodin, Harding, Azeez, Stockley, Downes, none of the them knocks.
One or two bad luck, 3-4 coincidence, 6 carelessness ?
Poke has a genetic predisposition to the exact injury from which he is suffering. He's had it his whole life, just this time, it's his other leg.
Harding broke his foot making a tackle in a match.
Bodin was injured in a billion-to-one freak during a match.
Azeez has a pre-existing injury which has reoccurred (although I'll concede that our warm-up activities are village at best and need to be addressed).
Downer twisted his knee going in for a tackle during a training match, could have happened to anyone at any time.
Pearce (not on your list) has a blood disorder, possibly one to which black people have a genetic predisposition (go on Merse, back on your high horse, you **** cum dribbler), but possibly not.
Stockley seems to have tweaked a calf during training. He's been with us for about 15 minutes. I really can't see us having done something so horrendous to a professional athlete in that time as to have brought him to significant grief. It's extremely cold at the moment and a minor calf strain is hardly unheard of in footballers.
This is not one we can lay at the door of the club, for the most part. Typical us though, Macklin starts finding some form, gets injured, never plays again. Harding does the same. Bodin the same. Just when we seem to have a really strong defensive pairing, one of them develops some disease entirely unknown to medical science. I mean, for **** sake, are we cursed or what?
Matt.
