Im finding this all very difficult........and have to say I'm with Hector all the way. Whilst i have always been a supporter of Ling I can't see why even if Knill turns it around by some miraculous turn of form that this would even be acceptable. This would just mean we have a manager that has taken us a season and a bit to get us to league survival..........what then, is this what we are to accept. Whatever happens (and i do not think for one minute anything is going to change in the short term) he has not been successful in any shape or form and even if we get a result at the next game this doesn't mean things have turned around. I can't fault the enthusiasm of people but be careful what you wish for. The answer, who knows. What we have is an unsettled team, player excluded (for whatever reason), financial concerns, low league position, loan players with no certainty, assistant manager departed...............and time running out.....quickly. Not sure what answer is but doing nothing whatever the financial implications are is not the answer...........we've fu**ed up majorly imo

The Marquis issue is that he has now gone it seems, (or Knill doesn't apparently know if hes coming back or not). Same sort of thing with McCallum. How can we run a team like this. There is no continuity.
No wonder we are down the bottom.

The problem with always relying on loan players is that when they go back we're right back where we started.

IF we scrape another season of league football and Knill remains in charge, we'll still have problems as the players at the club are regarded as not good enough by AK.

There's no stability and once O'Connor, McCourt and Marquis (already gone) leave we look an even weaker team, if that's possible.

Andy, why should we keep turning up? the advantages of not turning up IMO far out weigh the idea of "blind patronization"

1. Won't have to listen to constant moaning from other disgruntled supporters or put up with the dreadful matchday experience & atmosphere.
2. Won't be in a bad mood until the following Monday afternoon.
3. Won't have to queue for all ticket matches when the ground is only half occupied.
4. Not turning up will force the Board to Sack Knill if the gates get below a certain figure.
5. No need to pay an extra £3.00 to buy a programme to play "spot the loanee"
6. Save the money you would have wasted in the hope of being entertained at Plainmoor.
7 .Here you may add your own comments....... like not having to listen to f##king swearing all f##king afternoon! etc. etc. etc.

Footnote. I have deliberately left out comments about under performing players & a crap manager who has not got a clue what he is doing.

You keep turning up because people are fans and love the club, but by the sounds of it you don't

just want to say it's only £29 to stand and watch the Exeter Chiefs,good value for watching premier rugger plus you can have a few beers whilst watching the match,just giving ideas to people wanting to watch something else on a Saturday

Personally I'd rather eat the contents of my own excrement after having eaten a curry the night before, than watch any form of rugby, but especially rugby played by the seven fingered inbreds of exeter.

I go to the Chiefs quite a lot. Only £24 on the North stand.

Yes,I usually go once a season with friends (when we are playing away) It's a really good day out. We go up by train & stay for the after match entertainment, which happens in the bars, & get the 2100 train home.
We like to stand behind the goal at the north end as it is easy to get refills of beer. The teams always know when we are there as they conspire to play the whole game in front of the far goal & play a mini game of "hide the egg" sometimes you can buy a round of drinks, come back to your place, & you have not missed anything as the egg is still hidden at the far end. They also do another thing which involves bending down & trying to push the other team over whilst smelling your team mates bottoms. Not all of the team are allowed to do the bottom sniffing, as one of them has to put the ball in & the others are needed in case the ball comes out of the bottom sniffing assembly. This occasionally happens & someone will pick it up & run with it to try & score. The best thing of course is that nobody understands the rules as they change them every year. This is not a problem, as the ref spends most of the game coaching them & saying things like "keep out blue", "back red". Don't think it was £29.00, I think we only pay £22.00 as one of the guys pre books the tickets using the internet.

Strangely enough I don't want to go to Exeter Chiefs.

The reasons Scott highlighted are sufficient for an explanation why not but primarily it is because I support Torquay United and not Exeter Chiefs.

What happens when Exeter Chiefs become rubbish and the rugby is rubbish? What then? Go and watch tennis somewhere?

It hasn't got to be 'instead of' though.

I have watched Exeter Chiefs and Ivybridge RFC in the egg chasing game, Ivybridge Town and Plymouth Argyle at football, and even bloody cricket at Taunton and Filham (Ivybridge CC) ..... when Torquay United are not playing at home (or normally in the case of cricket not playing at all)

I will though miss a Torquay United home game if it clashes with the Tuckers Maltings Beer Festival at Newton Abbot .... on the grounds that the beer festival only happens one weekend a year .... and I have never left the beer festival thoroughly pissed off!

Likewise - I watch Exeter Chiefs when Torquay are away. But to be honest, I find Sandy Park a far more enjoyable experience than going to Plainmoor. Possibly because, whilst I want Chiefs to win, I don't feel quite so emotionally involved that it hurts enormously if they lose. But there is also the fact that so much goes on, you can have a pint and the quality of what you are watching is decent.

Exeter City fans refer to Plainmoor as the morgue and if truth be told, Plainmoor is devoid of atmosphere these days but then why wouldn't it be with the dross we are being served up.

got tickets for the Exeter Chiefs v Bath match in feb,will be a sell out 10,700 again,and paid £29 tickets for the East terrace north stand,great day out plenty of banter with the bath supporters,and never any trouble
