Can Hargreaves and hodges keep us up this season
First half in their second game dude, chill.
The second game was always going to be though, after winning at Wimbledon there was expectation to live up to and 11 players who deserved to keep their starting places. I'm sure we will see changes to personnel and tactics over the coming weeks as the management and players settle in to the new way.
Remember, Jesus saves...

Shouldn't be a surprise. Same group of players who got a manager sacked and landed us in pole position for the Conference. After deliberately playing badly for most of the season to achieve the 'dressing room' objective they will have difficulty in remembering how to play properly. Depends as well if the captain is intent on achieving a personal record. No individual player has ever been relegated out of the Football League 3 times.gullno4 wrote:changed my vote; the tables not looking pretty unfortunately for us just as we are looking better, so are everybody else, perhaps even more so than us!
Well that's one take on it. Many more are available ....

So the likes of Tonge, Pearce, Harding, Chappel, Cameron, Hawley, Mozika, the endless Knill loan signings, they all shared this objective, did they? Knill was a poor manager, who made poor signings and left us with a poor team.stefano wrote: Shouldn't be a surprise. Chris Hargreaves may have fluked a win at Wimbledon, or it may have been part of a strategic plan, but he has one hell of a job because of what he has been left behind.
The legacy of Knill is a team that cannot score, cannot defend, and do not know how to win. It is going to take more than two games for a rookie manager to turn that around. The home games are probably going to be key for our season and at least with CH in charge, there is sure to be a better, more positive, atmosphere at Plainmoor.
At home we have:
Burton
Bury
Accrington
Fleetwood
Rochdale
Newport
Scunthorpe
Dagenham
Wycombe
& Northampton
A potential 30 points. A minimum of 20 points would leave us not have to do too much away from home - a few draws may be enough...so 6 wins, 2 draws and 2 defeats may be a realistic expectation from those games.
Wins should be expected against Bury, Accrington, Newport, Dagenham, Wycombe & Northampton - perhaps draw with Burton & Rochdale and lose to Scunny and Fleetwood.
Any points collected away from Plainmoor can be seen as a bonus, as long as we get 20+ points from home games.
Just can't see it I'm afraid. Think we are going down this time

We have 5 very winnable home games, the others are also in theory winnable due to geographical reasons.hector wrote: So the likes of Tonge, Pearce, Harding, Chappel, Cameron, Hawley, Mozika, the endless Knill loan signings, they all shared this objective, did they? We have to look at Bury, Accrington, Dagenham, Wycombe and Northampton (Tuesday night) as home bankers.
We just seem to get a result against Rochdale at home.
Fleetwood, why not , bloody long journey for them.
Scunny not to confident and Newport are so unpredictable.
In reality we will probably achieve 4 wins and 3 draws, which takes us to 41 points. WE need 9 points away then if 50 is the survival benchmark. We are staying up

Who exactly, other than Nicholson & Mansell? Most of the fringe players he shipped out. Are you seriously suggesting the likes of Downes and Poke were throwing matches to achieve what Stefano infers?SuperNickyWroe wrote: and what about the players that were already here when he took the job and couldnt - even if he wanted to - get rid of them?

that would suffice in that dressing room.

Stefano referred to a GROUP of players. KN & LM hardly constituent a group, especially seeing as one of them barely featured in recent months, even if the accusation levelled at them was true.
