You're not the only one.

The only answer is money, they must be offering him a dumper truck of cash.

Of course, rumours of his demise are greatly exaggerated. He hasn't quit Oxford (yet), but it does only seem a matter of time.

Wilder's contract at Oxford expires at the end of the season. He was only given a one year deal at the end of last season. Unless Oxford have a change of heart, I can see very much why he would take a potentially longer deal at the San Sixfields.

He'd be swapping one club with an over-inflated opinion of itself for another, of course.

I would have thought Oxford's budget is comparable to Northampton's so this is rather odd. I'm not too fussed with this, I don't particularly rate him as a manager.

This is very bizarre. I'm very confused. The money we're talking must be absolutely astronomical. Going from promotion favourites Oxford to relegation favourites NTFC is like going from Astronaut-Pornstar-Footballer-President to toilet cleaner at McDonald's.

Alan Knill as assistant manager is just as perplexing.

I have a feeling that they must have been watching that film that starred Peter Sellers. Can't remember the title but it dealt with nuclear war. He played at least two parts. Oh yes. It's come back to me now. Dr Strangelove.
They obviously think that pressing the self destruct button is the thing to do.
