New England Shirt

Sooooo a mere 15 minutes after the last new shirt we are treated to a new England shirt for the World Cup in Brazil, i don't want to ruin it for you if you haven't seen it yet but er ... its white! (the away is surprisingly red)

Oh and it's 90 effing quid!!!

May as well charge £200 and idiots will still buy it. The thing about club shirts is that generally each one is different. The England shirt is white with a badge on it. No matter what material you make it out of it's still the same. I think the parents might get lucky this time hopefully as it looks no different to the one they've just had so the kids won't know!

What's it made out of anyway? Reclaimed alien space fabric found at **** Roswell?!!!

I may have been a bit harsh with my earlier comments above. Look, if someone is willing to spend £90 on it then that's their choice and clearly they aren't idiots. I DO think they should think twice though because in 5 years time the same shirt will then be £120. People need to take a stand against greed and they can't have any effect unless enough people do so collectively. I just feel for the little kids at school who through no fault of their own won't be able to own one and feel like their heroes like we did as kids because they are being priced out once again. Like ticket prices, football shirts are not reflective of the value they should actually be.

it looks like they're doing the same they do for MLS shirts; there are two cuts. The "authentic" version (i think Nike are calling it "Match") is more expensive - it's the one the players will be wearing, and that usually means that it's a lot tighter. They don't leave anything to the imagination. Most people here buy the 'replica' ("stadium") which is cheaper but is a bit more generous to those of us not earning 50k a week to run around in a field.

even £60 is a lot, though.

Absolutely disgusting! Its less than a year since the last shirt was released.

I remember when clubs only brought out a new home or away shirt every 2 years and England kept theirs for 3.

Kit prices have crept up and up in the last few years, granted they have been obscene for quite a while. Out of all the replica shirts though England ones used to be the most reasonably priced for a long time, but now it seems to have gone to the extreme.

£60 for a "stadium" shirt or £90 for a "matchday" shirt, do they think we are stupid or what. :slap:

I just hope nobody is daft enough to buy any of these shirts and the greedy b@stards at Nike and the FA are left with a huge amount of egg on their face and profit loss.

Everybody needs to boycott this shirt and not buy it, thats the only way supporters are going to get any sort of control back on this sort of thing. Parents need to make a stand and say no to their kids for once, it wont do them any harm, not getting what they want all the time. :no:

I suggest we all just wear an older replica or something, after all most of the recent shirts have looked very, very similar I doubt anyone will really notice. Or alternatively just buy and wear a tshirt or polo shirt with the England badge on, thats pretty much all the shirts are anyway and they wont date either. Mind you some of those are dear enough.

i think there will be stink made over this and hopefully the more people who refuse to buy will mean the less chance these prices become the norm.

Still got my Euro 96 shirt and a red long sleeve Euro 2004 top so they will get a run out this summer - of course once we get knocked out by Costa Rica the shirts will be a tenner in your local sports direct so if you really want one ...

Just don't buy it. Nobody is forcing you to. If nobody bought it they would have to look at the pricing. Supply and demand.

Absolutely right. No-one is going to be happy about paying £90 for a "match" shirt and frankly £60 for the replica is taking the mickey. I would simply not buy it - see the prices tumble when Nike can't shift the thing!
