Well, one played and four to go. This is like Mission Impossible, and without Tom Cruise! We still have the slimmest of slim chances, and to retrieve any hope at all from the trash bin we must obviously win all our remaining games, to finish on 51 points with what will be the worst goal difference. What about the other teams?
Morecambe and Hartlepool, despite their poor recent form, should get their 51 points without too much trouble.
Improved Northampton will also, I believe, get to 51 points.
Bristol Rovers will need 4 points from 4 games; two of those games are against Portsmouth and Wycombe. They might just be safe.
Exeter (assuming we beat them) will need 3 points from 3 games (Chesterfield, Scunthorpe, Hartlepool); they will be very nervous.
And Wycombe (assuming we beat them) need 5 points from 3 games (Northampton, Fleetwood, Bristol Rovers).
So if any teams apart from us and Northampton are to be relegated, it looks like Exeter and Wycombe for the drop.
But I wouldn't bet on it. Mind you, given the odds, it might be worth a pound or two on the Gulls to achieve the greatest of great escapes..

Guy on the radio said we needed something to give us a start for this miracle and we've done it
But like when we beat bury we have to take this opportunity, 4more wins might not be enough but let's give it a go!

If, and big if it is, we were to win the last four games, we’d have 51 points with around -17 goal difference.
To beat this other clubs would have to do as follows:
Northampton
6 points from
Wycombe A
Portsmouth H
Dagenham A
Oxford H
Wycombe
5 points from
Northampton H
Fleetwood A
Bristol Rovers H
Bristol Rovers
4 points from
Portsmouth A
Rochdale H
Wycombe A
Mansfield H
Exeter
3 points from
Chesterfield A
Scunthorpe H
Hartlepool A
Morecambe
3 points from
Scunthorpe H
Hartlepool A
Wimbledon A
Bury H
Accrington
1 point from
Mansfield H
South end A
Oxford A
Wimbledon H
Portsmouth
1 point from
Bristol Rovers H
Northampton A
Bury A
Plymouth H
Portsmouth and Accrington can be expected to get the point needed.
Morecambe will probably get the two.
Exeter’s fixtures are harder so they could fail to reach 51.
Bristol Rovers could easily lose the next two so need to take something from Wycombe & Mansfield
Wycombe could well need to beat both Northampton & Bristol Rovers
Northampton may well fail to get the six they need.
With most teams having some difficult games and several playing each other, I suspect that if we were to win the last four games we would stay up.
Still very unlikely but far better than it looked a week ago.

All we can do is keep winning games. The teams above us will start to panic if we keep winning. Simple as that. Most have written us off. Let's keep fighting until the very end. Dagenham are in poor form as well, a win is certainly not out of the question on Friday.
Na, na na, NA NA NA NA, NA NA NA NA, TORQUAY!
I'm glad Northampton won today. Even though it sort of makes things harder for us, if we had any hope of staying up (which we don't), it certainly piles the pressure on for Exeter and they do have (other than us) tricky games.
However, it is written. The portents are set. Exeter will beat us and condemn us to relegation (and probably save themselves)

Imagine the reaction from our fickle fans if CH keeps us up. From villain to hero, Mephisto to Christ, in five games!! Except of course for those few who will always find something to be negative about.. :S
Calm down.................Calm down!
We have managed to win a game of football in god knows how many attempts.
If we are undefeated after the Exeter game it will be time for the Great Escape chants.
