Who else went along?

I sat in the Family stand and got a good look at our strikers and keepers. Couldn't see much down the far end, looked to be a few unfamiliar faces but could just have been some of the young lads.

Bowman looks good, I would be very surprised if he doesn't score at least double figures this season. Very strong with his head and good movement. Yeoman and Sullivan also with quite a fair few tidy finishes. Can see why CH does not want Benyon or Hawley, both by comparison look complacent.

Some good crosses from Chappell, but to be honest I think the body language very much suggesting that he would be happier elsewhere. I assume the other fella was Briscoe although from a distance he looked older than I thought. His crossing is not a patch on Chappell or Cameron but first time I've seen him so not concerned. Could just be an off day.

Rice and Seabright looked sharp. Impressed with the youngster. Body language suggested he knows he is the understudy - not as commanding as Rice - but perfectly able and showed a lot of ability. Not afraid of onrushing strikers.

Anyone else have any thoughts? I did tweet along for an hour or so, so head there for more if you like (@highwaytohele)

Looking at a training session is no indication of how a team will perform and hope that Bowman, Briscoe and Seabright are good additions
to the squad. Chris must think that they are better than we've got as there is no point in signing them. Seabright is a good size and I think
he could end up as number one but as I said it's different in a game when the pressure is on. I'd say it was a good morning out and lets wait and see. All the players showed that they are true pro's as it must have been a difficult day for a few of them that are not wanted.

What sort of format did the session take? By some of the comments there were crosses coming in and headers made, Was it attack versus defence or mini games or just practicing crosses etc. Was there much running practice if so, who looked quickest?

It was a pretty casual session. As you'd expect, Chris deals with the forward players while Hodgy does the boring end. The drills were a close control 4v2 to start, then into some shooting drills. Further then onto crossing and heading. Abysmal attitude from Hawley who didn't look like he'd get into a pub side and couldn't care less about it.
They weren't out there long, but it was long enough to assess that Seabright is solid if unspectacular, Prynn can't cross and Bowman will be the best header of a ball in the Conference.

Keep the better players, add a LB and allow some of the fringe/youngsters to have a good season and we'll do well.

Pynn? If you mean the youth player with three on his back that was Levi Ives.

I'm looking forward to seeing the new guys for myself at Dorchester next Saturday. Hopefully by then we will have 2 or 3 more new faces to look at and hopefully have shifted on those not interested.

Ives? Don't be daft, he was shot by a German sentry as he went to climb over the fence during the 4th July celebrations.

and for some completely useless information.....

Karl Hawley has shaved off his beard, Ben Harding has shaved off the hair on his head and Greavsie has a lot more grey hair.

Yes we are going to have a completely new kit supplied by joma, and I have to agree the new lad looked superb yesterday his finishing was spot on compared to Benyon and hawley who were missing easy chances.

Glad to hear about Hawley. I found his beard very scary indeed. Don't want to be scared at a footie match.

I think (but don't know) that the FS deal was separate from the kit, so I'd guess there's no reason for that deal to go away. Doesn't mean it will stay, necessarily.

IIRC, the Family stand deal was "if you pay for the seats, you can have your name on it" as they all needed updating at the time. Imagine it could be time limited but was only a couple years ago.

If it is a completely new design of kit, I am disappointed that the £40 I forked out at the beginning of last season is already out of date.
