Clearly, more should be got out of this squad; it has lost to the worst in the division and beaten the best and also gone on a great run at the beginning of the season. Whilst the team on saturday were CH signings the core of senior players in the squad are not. CH has not got the leadership necessary from his most senior players, whatever they are actually paid. Whether that be through suspension, injury, lack of motivation or incompetence. CH was part of a senior group that helped lead us back to the league last time. It is that type of player that wins games when things are not going well. If he can spend that portion of his budget on appropriately experineced leaders for next season, to augment the talented younger players we may see see a successful challenge for promotion.forevertufc wrote:Is Mourinho a good manager, I would say he is, when you've won 7 League titles in 4 different countries, won both F.A and League cups in every country you've managed, won the Champions League with 2 different clubs and the UEFA cup, really don't think money comes into it, of course top managers would find it hard to win things with out money, it's all relative, would Mourinho, Fergie or Wenger kept TUFC in the football league, I would say yes, with that squad they would have done.
Can Chris Hargreaves be held 100 % accountable to this season should it end in failure, as it now seems likely, yes. 8 out of the 13 players used last Saturday were signed by CH, if you include the fact CH promoted Ives to the first team squad that makes 9, this is CH's team, it can't be argued any other way.

After seeing him on TV last night I would have said he was the man - but after reading the comments on here and having seen the scoreline .. then I have to say he is not the man!!
He is very good at bigging himself up when Natalie Cornah is around the studio ... but when it comes to the crunch .......!!

Unfortunately no. He was a hero here so it's sad the way it's turned out. The measure of a good manager is achieving things with little resources. He knew what he was taking on, perhaps not the entire measure of it but he has shown little talent for management I'm afraid, there will those that say give him another season and there entitled to do so but he's had more talent at his disposal than he will next season and I'm unconvinced he will get more from less.

I have supported Chris since he got the job and thought that he would do well. I came away from todays game thinking that I would have picked a better team and played better tactics against a team that we played against last week. It's a good job I'm not chairman as we would not have a manager tonight after a total lack of discipline during a ten minute spell cost us a £100000 pay out. There is no excuse that we've not got the players. When the best team is picked the team perform a lot better todays selection was shocking and if you look at my previous posts I have thought this for sometime. Chris does not know his best team. ![Keepie Up :keepie:](./images/smilies/ballup.gif)

And it will only get worse.
Loved him as a player, but without being harsh, he's a disaster as manager.
He needs to stick to TV studios.

Said at the first mention of his name as Knills' replacement..........a good player does not a competent manager make.
He was always going to be a huge mistake and I take no pleasure in being proved right.
How has he managed to coach Young from being an exciting, innovative player into the shell we saw today? - that takes a particular skill.
Perhaps it is easy to look good when you are coaching (not managing) a youth team under a highly competent manager.
Flatters to Deceive.
Hargreaves must have thought he had trapped the golden goose when he got this job ...as he would have been confident that no matter how bad he turned out to be the club would not have enough money to sack him for some time!!
Buy in haste......repent at leisure.
