welcome to the Royal Staff

Post by royalstaff_ald »

Hi all I'm the new landlady of the royal staff in aldershot .. I serve real ales largers and cider .. I would like to say I welcome all friendly footie banter before and after match .. As an Easter special I'm offering 50p off all largers and real ales .. 30p off all bottled beers and ciders and 20p off all spirits - I open at 12 noon .. Unfortunately no food .

We are walking distance to the football ground and not to be confused with the pub outside the away gates .. That's right to get the discount you'll have to stretch your legs ...

I hope to see you Monday

My only request is that you respect the pub the offer and my hospitality and my right to refuse sales to underage .

Anyone caught using drugs will be reported to the police .

Thugs, coked up away fans from Torquay, I don't think so. Your set of conditions has put me off the place already if that's what you think you are going to get. What a warm welcome thread you have sent to us.

I think you're being unduly sensitive and over-reacting, Lucy, and not a little ungracious; you're attributing thoughts to Royal Staff and putting words in her mouth which have no basis in her e-mail. I don't read anything unwelcome or improper in it, and I look forward to enjoying a pint there.

And I must add that, while there's always the idiotic exception at any club, I've always found the Aldershot fans to be a very friendly bunch. :-D

Now be fair, Lucy. The landlady of the Royal must realise that any supporter who travels to Aldershot on a Bank Holiday Monday to watch the current Torquay United 'football' team must be on something ....... Enjoy the match ;-)
