I'm surprised by the lack of loans thus far, with our limited budget I was expecting a lot more cheap/freebie loan players filling the squad.
If we do end up having a half decent season this could be the most valuable squad for the size of the wage bill we've had in years (given that thus far all the players are ours and are all young enough to be worth a fee potentially).

Surely the time for loans is normally halfway through the season when the manager will have a good idea as to what/who he will need, with players likely to be injured or suspended around that time. At the start of the season, and particularly in view of the fact that he has been in the job for around six weeks, Mr Cox is doing exactly the right thing in being patient in building his squad and being prudent with his budget.
