Football League Team Of The Week.
What. The. ****?
Pasted below is a quote from the football league website regarding their Team of the Week selections, it's from here >>> http://www.football-league.co.uk/league ... 26_2308114
"They [Torquay United] beat Stevenage with goalkeeper Danny Potter doing enough between the sticks not only to earn a clean sheet but the number one spot in the Team of the Week."
Stevenage didn't have a single shot on target. If Danny had stayed in bed, he'd have done an equal amount of work, how does that qualify him for team of the week? Did not other goalkeeper in L2 make a save? Were they all sent off, or caught in bed with the manager's wife? Did all bar Danny go to the office of the guy who decided the TotW and have a big, collective shit on his desk?
If you must make shit up as you go along, at least have the decency to make a cursory perusal of the Football League Show and decide based on that, or look at the match reports in the BBC sport page.
**** s me off, this is the Football League, supposed to represent the interests of the 99.999999999% of football clubs in this country who are not Manchester United, Chelsea or Arsenal, but do they really care? No, of course they **** ing don't.

No, the article says this " the Team's of the Week feature the eleven top performing players from each division from this weekend's matches."Richinns wrote:

before going on to say: Andy Hessenthaler's side are four points better off than Torquay United and the Gulls also picked up a 2-0 win at the weekend.
They beat Stevenage with goalkeeper Danny Potter doing enough between the sticks to not only keep a clean sheet but earn the number one spot in the Team of the Week.
Seem fairly clear to me that they are basing it on his performance on Saturday....
