Sounds like a very promising player. Well done Buckle and the scouting team, nice bit of business.

Sounds like a great signing. The players in the evostick premier aren't mugs. In fact, you know if we had gone to the likes of Matlock in the FA cup we would have had a proper game on our hands.
This is the sort of player we need to target. Great goalscoring record, and at 24 no doubt will play with something to prove. I'm looking forward to seeing him in action, although I'm guessing he'll be used fairly sparingly between now and the end of the season as he gets up to speed to full time football.

Sorry if it seems like Im doubting this deal (I'm not) but is there a confirmation link somewhere?
I guess he has to join in the summer too...unless it's a loan first?

I would imagine that it's a loan until the end of the season but with a pre contract signed and a fee agreed for his permanent signing. As posted earlier, if he stayed at Matlock until the summer he would be out of contract and as he is 24 then he would be a free agent and Matlock would get nothing for him - that is why (reluctantly I would imagine) they have agreed to let him move on now, so as at least they get soething i.e. a nominal fee with quite possibly a decent sell on cllause I would think.
Sounds like a promising signing, there are some real gems down in the lower reachs of the non-league,and its clear he is very highly thought off at matlock there a few things on there website.

Matlock have a forum too, accessible from their OS.
One of us posted on there earlier about this and the thread was locked. I have just been on there and posted a, sort of, confirmation for them that it's not a wind up and asked for their comments. Looking right back to their thread on his signing in 2008, they are delighted by him. As others have mentioned, but not really made a fuss of, his record in all first team matches this season is 51 goals in 48 games, simply unbelievable. That is a similar goals to games ratio as Lionel Messi and Christiano Ronaldo.
Of those 48 games, he has netted in 29, giving him 1.75 goals per scoring game. This includes 7 (seven) in one match in the FA Trophy, of which the last 6 came in the final 26 minutes and the last 4 in the final 8 minutes of the match. 10 braces, 3 hat-tricks, one seven and 15 singlies.
I really cannot wait to see this guy in action. Charlie Austin, Chris Smalling, Ian Wright, Cody McDonald, all non league nobodies who play(ed) top level football now. This guy could be our knight in shining armour, both on the pitch and financially. Absolutely ecstatic.
Matt.

Sad to see Ross leave Matlock.
His work rate is 110% and a natural goal scorer. Just a bit on the short side for the full time game in my opinion.
Without him we would be a relegation side and not in the playoffs.
He has scored 42 competitive goals this season at over one a game. and was carrying an injury at the start of the season so had a slow start.

He is a good player in the third tier of non-league football with a strong left foot but I can't really see him making the grade in league football even at League 2 level.
I could be proved wrong though and if he has indeed signed for Torquay then I wish him well.

Bucks hinted in his interview with RD last night that he was still trying to bring in 1 or 2 players ... so hopefully Hannah is one of them and maybe the "other" one is the Premier League striker that's been mentioned in the press. Clearly we are in desperate need of a proper "target" man as neither Zebs or Billy are suited to that role in my opinion. Clearly Hannah isn't that man as he looks like the type of player that would prefer to play off a big striker (same for Jake Robinson). That said, his lack of inches shouldn't stop him finding the back of the net on a regular basis at this level as one of the most consistent scorers in this League over the last few years has been Adam Le Fondre who looks to be of a similar build to Hannah.
