Questions really need to be asked why they would employ this tactic? Do they not care about the worry circulating amongst the fans of the club? Do they not feel that this 'shut up shop' attitude is something which further distances the fans from those making the decisions about OUR football club?
Just a few things off the top of my head:
What is your response to allegations which have surfaced against the running of the club?
Has Masters been appointed to the board?
What are the details of the ground share?
Does KN have the boards support?
What is the boards reaction to Kevin's statement he released on his Facebook page?
If so - are they trying to bring any experienced support for the manager?
Are you trying to purchase the club from the Council?
Have we sold Lavercombe to Wigan?
If so - what are the details of that sale?
Is there any fresh investment coming into the club?
Is there any money to spend in January?
Are players on less than minimum wage?
Are we continuing to lose money with the budget the club in currently being run on with the gates we are currently getting?
Why are teams who have a third of our gates able to have a larger budget than us?
You promised openness and honesty when you arrived to save the day yet you have chosen to operate in such covert measures.
I am sorry Steve et al but this is a piss poor way to treat those fans that have endured so much yet continue to stick by the club.

I posted this on another thread just before, but it seems right to be here too:
You know what? **** them. If that's the way they want to be, then so be it. I'll just stop sending them my money - not that it is very much, and I'm sure they won't even notice it's not there anyway.
I'm a placid guy, happy to see the best in everybody if I can, and very rarely lose my temper, but this current board have had more than enough grace from supporters. They don't appear to give a shit about us; they appear to stick two fingers up to people who have offered their help (I see no reason to doubt people like Bobby on here who has claimed he offered his assistance etc) and what really **** me off is people like Steve Breed who, lets not forget was "just a fan" like the rest of us on here up until the start of this season, suddenly seems to treat us like complete cocks.
Well, **** the lot of them. My money is staying in my pocket from now on, until I start to see positive moves from the club, instead of the "no comment" we are getting.
You know what Steve, Dave et al? Some of the stuff on here and elsewhere is fairly serious stuff, stuff that deserves a response - even if you simply come out and say it's all bollocks, that would be good enough for me.
A lot of people have spent almost their entire life (and for some that's a looooong time eh Stefano, Wivel, Tomo etc ) following this club, and they, as the rest of us do, deserve some answers.

Starting to get really pissed off with the ongoings at the club. Fine we don't have any money, but why? As Richinns mentioned I cannot logically see why our budget is 'less' than that of clubs who get 650 fans each match! The costs have been cut and assets stripped to bare minimum (training ground, academy etc) so how is a 1700 average not sustainable for us?
I cant believe the board have responded with this reply considering the approach of the Xmas and New Year games. What do they expect now from the fans? There is no way fans are going to support the board and attendances will undoubtedly fall further.

For what my professional opinion is worth, this is the best and most dignified way to deal with this! You also may find for legal reasons a statement at this time would be inappropriate, NO STATEMENT is not an acceptance of blame, so lets not go off to more conclusions, lets get some stability quickly.
Whilst I completely agree with your sentiment, and on many levels you're right in what you say, there surely is no reason why the board could not release a simple statement to say, due to legal reasons, or due to a review/decision making process not being complete we can't comment at this time.davidcaldwell123 wrote:For what my professional opinion is worth, this is the best and most dignified way to deal with this! Rather than a point blank refusal to speak, it's becoming frustrating, Kevin Nicolson can go on about keyboard warriors all he likes, so can the club, but he and club only have to look at all TU forums, social media etc, these are real fans, real people, and their becoming more angry and disillusioned, the club can't ask for the fans to stay loyal, and yet, not talk us, about what they legal can, and explain to us about some issues they can't speak about.

Why don't we have any money? Perhaps it was the cost of firing Hargreaves, the cost of firing Hodges, the cost of firing Veysey, the cost of settling unfair dismissal claims for former employees, the cost of hiring a totally unnecessary Director of Football, the cost of firing a totally unnecessary Director of Football, the cost of assembling a huge squad (many of whom even the current Manager admits are not fit for purpose), the (alleged) cost of "remunerating" the former DOF who inadvertently got "given" 40% of the club by mistake it seems ... need I go on?Admiral wrote:Starting to get really pissed off with the ongoings at the club. David you are fully entitled to your opinion BUT our Boxing Day fixture against FGR is potentially our biggest gate of the season.
I do feel very strongly that the CEO or the Chairman could and should have said something to quell the anxiety of the fans and encourage them to come to Plainmoor on Boxing Day to support the team when they desperately need our support.

I wouldn't be inclined to make a statement either if the nasty allegations that have been made about the board were made about me. The allegations were deliberately designed to stir up a hornet's nest at a really tricky time in my view and that's exactly what has occurred. The press can be a very nasty animal sometimes. They will quote the sentence that gives them a story and totally ignore the surrounding context. I think Steve needs to think through what he actually wanted to say and why and put his position out more fully. It would be helpful to everybody if he could do that..

I think its a difficult time for everyone and I agree with you whole heartedly that it frustrates people, but the fact they are not getting involved in a public slagging match is good evidence of their professionalism at this time, I am also not sure how the could answer all the allegations with one statement? My preferred method would be a forum between respected members of the supporters club and the board behind closed doors.

The Board were fairly quick to comment on Colin Lee's "offer" to help though, which would suggest to me that maybe there is some degree of truth to the allegations made on here and elsewhere.

Its a difficult time and I am sure they are aware of this, I am down in January to support the club, as recovering from a hernia operation at the moment or would have been down over the festive period, I would support the club over the festive period and let the dust settle, everyone players, manager, club and supporters need a period of stability.
I also think you will find out how the team has been effected by all this during this time! They are the ones that matter, if KN thinks by his statement, he is supporting them, they may react positively, if they feel a loss self esteem and confidence then it may be different, I am not sure the opposition will have too much sympathy for us! Time will tell, will be interesting to see if Kevin is a strategic genius or was rash in his statement on Facebook!
