Its obvious that the lad's going to move on, he's way too good for that league and club, so he would be barking mad not to move on to a bigger club either now or in the summer, and work his way up the footballing ladder.

Hope we get him.
Who knows if he'd be 'barking mad' not to move? As suggested in this thread, it depends what kind of living he's making from his 'other' job, whatever that might be. A footballers career is a short one, he's 25 already. If he's got a decent job, and he can earn as much (or more) doing that alongside playing part-time football than he could from a move, he might not feel the need to gamble it all on a chance of stardom. Most would i'm sure (i would), but he might not be so inclined.

I have read with great interest the Hannah saga on here as a Matlock Town supporter.

With regards to the post above think in terms of around £400 per week for playing for Matlock.

Not sure what his main job is but I think he may be an electrician.

In terms of the future I am sensible enough to understand that Ross will probably at some point move on and higher up in the pyramid he really is a very good player. Lightening quick, hell of a shot and knows how to score. There is a video of the FCUM V Matlock game on the FCUM website check out his second goal in that game. On that day Hannah destroyed FCUM who are no mugs. Indeed in the commentary of that game all they (the FCUM commentators) can talk about is Hannah. He basically scores against them every time we play them. Here is the link http://www.fcum.tv/2010/09/05/fc-united ... 910-goals/

For me without Hannah we would be nowhere this season as nobody else can score. He is worth the admission alone.

However, bigger picture we have a great opportunity to get promoted this season probably via they play offs. If we do crowds will increase as will revenue. Not just from Matlock supporters but larger away support. We really have to get to the point that if Hannah goes then please let it be after the season has finished and take the gamble that he goes for nothing. We may not get this opportunity again to go into the Conference North.

I fear also that Mark Atkins will also leave as manager at some point as his part in Matlock's relative success cannot be under estimated.

Good luck to him wherever he finally goes (if he wants to) and good luck to Torquay United if you do get him. But I hope we take the gamble and he stays until May just to see if we can take this very rare step for us up to the Conference North.

I have read all the pages from 1 through to 12 and what springs to mind is this : "Chinese whispers."

For those who have failed for one reason or another to take in SG's original thread starter, it's above.

There is now no excuse for misquoting, or worse, dreaming up what SG didn't say.

Thanks, Trojan, it's not a problem, if nothing else we got to see the undoubted skills of a player destined to ply his trade at a much higher level than he currently does and although the OP was rushed for reasons explained, it still stands for itself in that it didn't confirm 100% the signing was in fact Hannah. That IS however who I thought it was at the time.

There's a player at Truro who is supposedly on £750 per week.

I wonder who the Del Boy could be ?

A joke curtesy of Diamondgirl herself.

Dave, very kindly made me a moderator. I am on here at all hours so I can remove the late night spambots which arrive, so if you need anymore of you 'little blue pills', you'll have to get them from the pharmacy like the rest of us.

If there is a man with a gun to your head, forcing you to read this thread, I suggest you call the police. If not, simply ignore it and stop whinging and dictating what others may and may not do.

I hear fact, rumour and speculation all the time. I sit on it and watch it work the loop. A lot can be learned about people and there tendency to keep a confidence or otherwise.

For example, there's an outward loop as seen on here and there's a return loop via the PM as another example.

Because someone says something you believe them ? It depends on many factors.

SG has always acted in good faith and individuals who seek to gain advantage from that good faith will soon find they will meet an aspect of SG that will not be to their liking.

Would assume that would be Barry Hayles then?

Truro have quite a rich owner/chairman do they not?
