Come the end of the season it's the form over the last 46 that matters not your last eight or nine. Also whilst games in hand sound great if you don't convert them into points they mean nothing.
This game will be tough, I hope we come away with the points but can see a draw.
Not being defensive. Just arguing that it's not going to be a walk in the park (didn't someone predict 5-0?). Especially when one of the links above hasn't even got the number of points right!

And I'd say that form over the last eight or nine is more important coming into individual matches. If we'd played you 10 games ago, we'd almost certainly have lost. Now I think we've got an excellent chance of winning.

Just a bit of fun.

I'm remembering back to earlier in the season when Macclesfield did us at our place 1-3 with Ben the Sheriff doing the most damage. :(

ha yeah that was me, well i said 0-4 or 0-5 to be exact!! when i posted i really did think that, i predicted 4-0 v shrewsbury, i was wrong, it was five, and also that we'd win at bury midweek

this wasnt some finger in the wind prediction, we really have been playing brilliantly at times and the fluid way our forwards are working together these days, since benyon left and we got jake in on loan, the two new lads last week and the way stanley is bossing the middle makes me super confident that we'll score goals, and plenty of them these days

i realise that yr on a good run too, and i'll prob revise that rout down to a one goal victory now in the cold light of day!!

been to moss rose 3 times, think we won 2 and drew one 3-3 after being 1-3 up heading into injury time??

will be in macc from 1218, prob waters green, baths hotel and railway view for a few sips with a couple mates, one of whom is a wednesday fan so looking for a venue near to station with real ale and a big screen to watch that in

enjoy yr day too mate
still keeping the faith

Rotherham getting an absolute shoeing at the moment live on sky. Jack lester has just made it 3-0 to Chesterfield in first half stoppage time.

So assuming Rotherham aren't going to provide the greatest comeback since Lazarus, a win for us tomorrow will put us ahead of them. Surely an extra incentive for the lads.

rotherham have been totally outplayed and are lucky to be nil!

With tonight's result, any win for us tomorrow will mean a place in the playoff positions. I'm quite pleased that the Macclesfield fan reckons that their pitch is good, means we'll be able to play a decent passing game, which can only increase our chances of winning.

As for all this form talk, it's not wholly irrelevant, but it is the next best thing. If you go back 36 games, you'll find we are 12 points and 25 goals better than Macclesfield. We'll find out in 18.5 hours which is currently the better side.

Just about to set off, weather seems perfect for football and a playoff push. This is the first time I've not worn some kind of thermal garment to a match in ages! Looking forward to today's game.

Usual match report will be up about 90mins after the game, got to drop a mate off on the way back first. Let's hope it's another winning one!

Just had a look at the fixtures for today and the sides in the play-off places have some really tough fixtures today. If things go our way, we could be 4th by 5pm tonight. I must stress this would only happen if results went our way today.

This is how I would like things to go for us today.

Accrington (13th) v Port Vale (7th) - With Accrington's games in hand on us, possibly a draw will suit us best.

Shrewsbury (4th) v Wycombe (3rd) - Not too sure on this one, a win for Shrewsbury takes them to one point behind Wycombe and if we win, that could put us two points behind Shrewsbury with a better goal difference and three off Wycombe in 3rd. Otherwise a draw for both sides would put us 4th (assuming results go our way), four points off Wycombe in 3rd.

Burton (22nd) v Gillingham (5th) - Hoping for a Burton win, they beat Chesterfield at home last month and Gillingham have drawn the last 6 away matches.

and a Torquay win!!! :-D

Feel free to agree or disagree with me, but I would be very happy if all this were to happen today.

COME ON YOU YELLOWS!!!
Na, na na, NA NA NA NA, NA NA NA NA, TORQUAY!

Wish I could get to today's game, it's one that I singled out a few months back as a possible, with it being about 4 hours on the train from Glasgow. But dissertation has put paid to that, have to wait til Bradford away now. With that in mind I think we'll draw, get the disappointing results out of the way before I next see us play! 2-0 down at HT, finish 2-2, Nicho and Robinson with goals.

I know it doesn't really mean a great deal, but there are a lot of semi-negative predictions for us in this match considering, for three out of the last four halves of football, we have dry humped the shit out of Shrewsbury and Bury.
Macclesfield are not really (according to the league table anyway) any better than AC Northampton, and we pissed all over them.
Now, I could look a right tit come 1700 today, but I really don't think I will.
Don't get me wrong, Macclesfield are a decent side who will certainly be disappointed with their current league position, but real playoff contenders, barring a calamitous day at the office, ought to win this game.
