Prospects for 2017
Unless Keiffer Moore is really on the end of it don't do it. ! If the sum I have heard mentioned is still current we could get more from the Salvation Army. When in the history of football did we ever get anything of substance from Argyle. ? If Blissett is going to go he goes to Forest Green and we ger Moore.

This is where the club officials have gone wrong this should not be in the public domain this should be kept quiet. As for money if Plymouth buy him it's a packet of peanuts unless they are going to pay £20,000 to £30,000 which he is worth. If it's peanuts he should not be allowed to go this is where a good manager or chairman earns his keep.
It's obvious Plymouth want him on the cheap I expect they will offer a low price but with add ons but he's worth more to us. If Plymouth offer £100,000
I would be very shocked.

Hells teeth Arcadia. We did not go into the Western League. You seem to be applying their valuation tables.

For a player that has got 6 months on his contract and we signed him on a free we'd be lucky to get the above if we get more we will have done well.Dazza wrote:Hells teeth Arcadia. We did not go into the Western League. You seem to be applying their valuation tables.

Er.. didn't we pick up Luke Young when Argyle let him go? And didn't Argyle forego their share of gate receipts not so long ago, to help us out financially? In any case, us Deb'n clubs gotta stick t'gether, buy..Dazza wrote:When in the history of football did we ever get anything of substance from Argyle. ?

You seem to forget that teams at the bottom often lose, and teams at the top often win.Gullscorer wrote:I'm really talking here about the prospects for the team on the field of play. We've made a good start: only one defeat in the last six league games, and we're just 17 points behind the play-off places, a gap which it is more than possible to close by a good team over the course of half a season.
Earlier this year we were 13 points adrift at the bottom of the table with a few short weeks to go, but one way or another the squad was strengthened and motivated by the manager (credit where it's due) and we avoided relegation.
Over the last few years you've needed a minimum of 77 points for playoffs, but usually 78-81. For us to get that points haul from 18 games means we need to win 17 of them. Or 16 and two draws. If you think anyone in this league is going to do that you are properly mental.

Point taken. But what are the odds of the Gulls achieving it? 5000-1? Did anyone think that Leicester would win the Premiership title last season? ![Glasses :)](./images/smilies/glasses.gif)

Money
All their main rivals falling over themselves to underachieve
An incredibly effectively well honed tactical system, designed perfectly for the players they possess and against the major teams they played.
Momentum
Dilly-Ding, Dilly-Dong
Yet at no point in their season did they win 16 out of 17 games at any point in the season. It's delusional to think that any team could do that, short of an utterly dominant Real Madrid/Barcelona team or possssibly current Chelsea. For reference the most matches won in a row in the EPL is 14 and that has happened once...ever...., not sure what the Football League record is.

You seem to be saying that because we're not going to win those games, then we shouldn't bother trying to win any of them; we should all - players, manager, and supporters - just pack up and go home?
Why not set out to win those games, or as many of them as possible? That's what they're there for. Look on the bright side. By the way, there are 21 games left to play, not 18.

Well, new owners in charge and in two games they are served up seventeen goals, and our lads are now obviously on a decent run of form, with other clubs showing interest. Did anyone seriously expect that before the festive season? Now, there may still be some cynics and doubters, but it's quite possible that the new regime will become as addicted to the Gulls as the rest of us.
Players come and go, the good, the bad, and the ugly, but we know that our manager, with innate ability and growing experience, is capable of bringing in new signings able to do a job for us. If G.I. honour their commitments and support him and the club as they did a year ago, we could easily finish the season on a high note, with deserved increased attendances, and the club may even show signs of beginning to make a profit.
That would bode well for the future. With owners, supporters, and playing staff all singing the same song, what vistas might open up before us, looking forward beyond the end of this season with a new-found optimism, and TUST could even go back into hibernation for a while.. :~D

On the Radio this morning, they said that Blissett has gone for around £15k and that 2 new signings are expected shortly. Watch this space

The fee's irrelevant (although, as usual, Dazza is likely to be pretty much bang on). What's key is the wages we'll be able to re-utilise.
