Messing with Northampton game to suit SKY!
OK.. so, I was all set to got to Northampton on Saturday, dog-sitter arranged, mates lined up to come, baby-sitter in place. Looking at the fixture schedule, the absence of the Northampton game got me thinking it was off..maybe O'Kane and Kee and the other Irish lad were all playing in an Eire U-21 and we had the game put back? Then, with sickening clarity I realise it's been moved to Friday, cue hasty rearrangements, time off work &c, mates unable to rearrange babysitter &c. Still, fair enough I s'pose as England are playing Wales at 3pm on the Saturday, and lots of people might want to watch that (presuming that is the reason for the rescheduling?). Grabbed a copy of Radio Times at lunchtime, and was ENRAGED by the fact that IT'S NOT ON TERRESTRIAL TV at all- NOT EVEN HIGHLIGHTS, just bloody SKY!!! So... all this for the sake of rich armchair Sky-subscribing F*CKERS from whim maybe HALF A DOZEN might have bothered going to Sixfields??? Is this a justified rant?
See you there Friday.
See you there Friday.
Fate: A police dog called Bryn bit Torquay player Jim McNichol and the time while he was receiving treatment was added onto the end of the second half.
First off, yes my day job is still for Sky...
But the Wales FA (not Sky) chose to kick the game off at 3pm and not in the evening (because of transport problems apparently).
And Northampton chose to move their game to suit themselves (and bring in extra revenue) not to suit Sky.
Yours, a rich armchair Sky-subscribing F*cker.

Actually Alex, you jogged my mind - that is indeed the reason the game was moved. I had forgotten that - they had a game rearranged I believe and midweek games are almost impossible to schedule in the Egg Chasers Premiership.
I seem to recall Police Advice as the deciding factor for the movement since you can see Franklin's Gardens from the away end at Sixfields.

No HRG, not me pal, I do go on there to read the bollocks they come out with, usually about how much bigger they are then every other team in the land and how useless Harrad is a top quality striker. They're all proclaiming him having turned a corner... because he scored a very dodgy penalty on Saturday.
Horrible, shitty little club and the sooner they're in the Conference where they belong, the better. Just a shame that Burton, Stockport and Barnet are so bad this year.
Matt.

Once the match was moved to Friday night, the fact the the egg chasers have subsequently moved their game wouldnt mean Real Cobblers would then move theirs back to Saturday though. There's bound to be more to it than meets the eye regards policing etc...AlexGulls wrote:Sounds like it IS due to the England game then. Thats quite annoying...Couldnt they of just made it an early kick off on the Saturday...Or evening..Either way really.
