New kit design
New kit design
Little birdy tells me that with the first team having a new main kit for next season, the club want the centre of exellence who currently play in there own design yellow kit,to come into line with the first team.
The little birdy also told me that the centre of exellence will be playing in an all yellow shirt with a horizontal blue stripe running through the club badge,if this is correct and the C.O.E will be playing in the same shirt as the first team, then this the llikey design for the new kit.,if the info is correct.
So what do you think?,do you like the idea of this design?,or like me do you think that could be tad boring.

I loved some of the designs that forum members posted on here. It's a real shame they didn't take those onboard, although obviously without seeing the new design up close I'll reserve judgement.

We don't need a new first kit, we need a new away kit, that black costs us points galore.

yeah i agree that black kit is a shocker, both aesthetically and points loss wise!!
still keeping the faith
I'm looking forward to the new home kit, haven't had a new football shirt in years. Want to gets the kids one each as well before my father in law threatens to get them Aston Villa shirts

I don't understand the hate for the black shirt. I quite like the design, it's very different to anything we've had in living memory, and while our home form is better than away surely this is to be expected. Admittedly I don't know what kit we wore for what games so can't make a like for like comparison, though we did beat Bury in it for one thing.
One aspect of it I don't understand is why we wear it against teams whose shirt is more similar to that than the yellow, eg. Northampton. I think in these cases we should stick to the home shirts, as in a fast paced game a player may instinctively pass to the dark shirt in the corner of his eye - happens to me in 5-a-side all the time.
If the players or manager find a problem with playing in black then I fully support changing it, but I think it's just being used as a scapegoat for poor results.
Back onto topic, the new kit sounds interesting, a slight variation on the div 3 playoff year (Rodney Jack et al) which has been out of circulation for a while, and was the one my travelling partner and I agreed on on the way to Northampton. I haven't had a new home shirt in a while due to lack of difference to my current one (plain yellow) but this could interest me.

a few years ago i was chatting to colin lee in the club shop, shortly before the release of a new home shirt, and he would only tell me that "it will be yellow". he told me they had considered changing the colour, but i think it was more a case of him reminiscing about his days playing in the black and white.
to change from yellow would be very wrong in my opinion. i wasn't even that keen on the blue and yellow stripes, or the yellow and white, from years gone by to be honest, although i did buy them.
i like the black shirt (don't own one), it's a nice shirt, but i've never liked black as a football kit. refs should wear black, not the teams. i agree with bigman, and can't understand why we wear black at times, when the yellow clashes less with the home teams colours.
is there a date for when the club are going to announce/reveal the new kit, and is it to be made by vandanel again ?? if so, can we expect them to not be available until at least 2 months into the new season !?!?!? 8/

Can't post a picture, but BlueYellow's post (12th one down?). I found it in the old design a kit thread. Looking back, there are some bloody good kits in that thread!

I quite like the black away kit too and bought one for myself. Something a bit different to the usual loike.

Bigman,
My personal gripe with the black kit is the fact that, especially under flood lights, it makes the players nearly impossible to see at any range, and that's with the advantage of an elevated position. I quite like them aesthetically, but they do not catch the eye in the manner of the yellow shirts and this can be crucial. A quick glance into the box full of yellow shirts and the Torquay players are immediately identifiable, in the black kit (because of the very nature of the colour) makes this impossible.

Im not certain but i thought i saw somewhere it take a few days to get the kit washed and dried etc under the current arrangement. That could be why the yellow wasnt available for Friday night having been used on Tuesday??regiment0609 wrote: i agree with bigman, and can't understand why we wear black at times, when the yellow clashes less with the home teams colours.
