New Grandstand
Good point about the midweek games - the sheer amount of them is probably why they're so low across the whole league, particularly with the distances involved for some people.
I'd also say that weekend games are possibly being pulled down at the moment as well - averaging a home game once a week since the new year requires a lot more "commitment" than the usual one every two weeks for the purely home supporters.
I know people who can only make two matches or maybe just one match per month because of other duties - the job, the wife etc.

To be fair robbo, he's only missed 2 home games this season (wedding anniversary and illness) and I do get fed there twice a week. I do keep her sweet though with regular bottles of Bacardi.

Whatever it says there, it is imperitive that we build this grandstand. Surely they'll get a grant for it though, the fact that some of it has been sectioned off for health and safety, and the poor, possibly dangerous state it's in at the moment? Shame we have a council who seemingly disregard the club.

Yellow there are Council elections coming up in a couple of weeks, a nice chance to get rid of the current bunch of idiots and perhaps replace them with someone that might actually give a dam.
The leader of the Lib Dem group is actually a big united fan. That and he can't be any worse than Bye, Carroll and their motly crew who have no interest in the club what so ever. I actually met him at a game once, he was with the MP, both real fans and knew their stuff.
As you say though we have very little choice, we have to replace the stand whatever happens. Lets hope the football foundation look kindly on us.

Without doubt - the Bristow stand should this go ahead.

Replacing this stand with a stand like we saw on the plans would make Plainmoor a very tidy little ground for our current level. We don't need any more allocation than 6,500 that it would hold. Should we go up, we still won't be selling out every game, nowhere near, so it's still absolutely fine. It'll make it a ground to be proud of.
I really hope the FF do see this as a necessity for us to progress, so give us the funding.

I doubt any sponsor could possibly invest as much time and passion as Paul Bristow and his family, I for one will be pretty angry to hear it called anything else.

4th on that list can be The Bristow Grandstand, nobody can say his family haven't earned that right. He (Paul) was a leader and inspiration for the youth of TORQUAY, and he put in the time and commitment to give us the fortune we currently enjoy at our club. Period.

The Grandstand (like the Popular Side) has always been the Grandstand. To add the prefix of a generous benefactor to either side does not demean the ground or the district the ground is located in. In his short time as a philanthropist, it's the very least that Mr Bristow deserves.

It has to be the Bristow Stand for me. If they flog the rights to some random company im still going to call it the Bristow Stand. Not only is he a hero at the club but in the whole town for his community work. Its the least the club can do to show its appreciation ,
