The Russian Gulls

Post by RussianGull »

From September I'm going to be living in Russia as part of my degree, so I've been doing some research and I've found the Russian Gulls!

Much in the same vein as the Norwegian Gulls, they post on the Russian version of Facebook and here is their page if any of you guys fancy having a look:

http://vkontakte.ru/torquay_united

Might not interest all of you, but I thought it quite interesting to see how widespread the Gulls fans really are...

Nice to see the name of TUFC being spread so far and wide. They should be able to help you along with the language anyway ;-)

Oh, good stuff. I've been trying to get the Russians in my office to follow Torquay. Maybe this will help.

Been talking to two of the chaps for a couple of hours, gave them the link to here but, in the same sense that you guys don't understand Russian, they don't understand English... Good lads though

got my Russians to take a look. They were...bemused. Turns out that several of the fans there (there are 74) found us through the FIFA video games; there's a thread entitled "how did you become a fan of Torquay United"

They're pretty up-to-date, too; mention of Stanley loan deal, Wroe leaving, Benyon leaving.

This has made my day, thanks.

Cool, I've come across that site before, good to see it is in use and gets updated then!

Oh if you convince any fellow Russian fans to join on here get them to use a non .ru email address - had to whitelist the .ru domain as so many spammers were using those email addresses.

Don't be a stranger to the site :)
