No, Andy - there were two or three players who rose above the dross.

!. Rhys Healey - no. 1 by a mile
2. Arran (?) Barnes
3. George Dowling - came on as a second half sub, and like Barnes, he showed an urgency and determination which others didn't
4. Liam Davis - had a reasonable game, I thought. Just about deserves to be included.

But only four from me.

Yes, Wivel - when I think of past players we have watched at Plainmoor and compare what we were watching last night ..... it makes you want to weep. :'( I would add Reg Wyatt, Reg Jenkins, Larry Baxter, Jimmy Dunne, Jim Fryatt, Mickey Cave, John Bond, Ken Brown, Alex Russell, Jason Fowler, Rene Howe ......... the list just goes on and on. Good to see the Seasiders staying away from the relegation places. What happened to the Jarrow Roofing guy?

From my era I would add Steve Cooper, Kenny Sandercock, Ian Twitchin and Clint Boulton - they would all have given the current shower an almighty verbal roasting!

....... and Guy Branston, Porky !! ;-) He would have sorted out that lot last night. I'd also add Andy Gurney and Phil Gibbs. As I say, the list could go on and on, and the more names added to the list, the more it makes you want to weep to see how far our club has fallen. Just what have you started, Wivel ?????? :red:

Can i just mention the so accurate posting of Tomogull, Branston, he would have sorted them out, too true and that surely is one of the major reasons Torquay have serially failed these last two seasons, we have a bunch of so called players with not one leader amongst them, Mcginty, dont make me laugh, Gowling, shouts a lot but no one listens to him, Young, well not sure whats happened to him, but football is surely not his first love anymore. Perhaps managers like the inferior versions we seem to recruit are frightened stupid of strong characters who would probably see straight through them.

I think guy branston would be a good shout for manager or coach.
And when he gets sent to the stands geoff stelling could "and guy branston has got himself into a pickle". At least there would be passion and work ethic.
I find these retro posts depressing. Anyone remember us beating league 1 (premier league) Burnley featuring Brian Flynn. ....... I need a drink.
