Speak to us old 'uns for a proper insight into 'all time greats'.

Only Merse could try to undo the mountain of work Gulliball puts into collating all the stats.

I'm sure I speak for the vast majority of members when I say I have a clear understanding of the context within which the team was called "All time greats".

Great work, Chris!!

I'm not trying to undo the mountain of work; I'm pointing out that it is not an 'All Time' record of players.

Anyway, leave it at that, as thin skinned people don't appreciate the bleedin' obvious being pointed out do they.

From the 8 seasons of data to date <snip>
Lifted directly from the post that contained the “all time team”, it is obvious to anybody who read it exactly what the all time team is made up of.

merse btpir wrote: 09 May 2018, 05:50 How can an 'All Time Team' only be drawn from the last seven (and definitely) worst and lowest levels of our history and be called ALL time?
you are misreading Merse's post. He acknowledges that the data is only lifted from the past seven seasons. He was just questioning, perhaps mischievously, the title of "All time team".

Ha ha you can tell it's close season!

Some great stats in here but, for what it's worth, I also think it's odd to call a team from only the last 8 seasons an "all time team"...context or not.

Doesn't detract from the fact it's an interesting read though.

I think Gulliball probably chose the term ironically, and anyway everyone is taking it a wee bit too seriously. And we think the yanks don't have a sense of irony.
Anyway Gulliball well done, I love football geeks.

That 'all time team ' would walk the National League, though surprised that Ajala got in , would have preferred
Danny Stevens, but the real all time team of
Mahoney
Bond Edwards Boulton Kitchener
Benson Mitchinson Dunne
Jack Stubbs Graham .............would destroy that team

would destroy that team

While you're all here, can I interest anyone in a TUFC themed codebreaker puzzle? It bombed on Twitter, but maybe this is a better market. I've heard rumours that some of the answers are players who represented the club pre-2010, if you can imagine such a time.

Never pedantic, me. Why did you feel the need to leave a space before the question mark?
