You of all people Merse know that when we put our comments on this forum the golden rule is be prepared for rebuttal. You are a Master of Counter-Argument. For example If anyone comments something good, informative or factual about Theo or Nicho you are on them like the Defense Attorney for OJ Simpson. Your post does have logical form but that is not to say that one or more of your premises will be seen as unsound or false by others. That said your viewpoints still empower the audience with your constructed comments based from your perspective and unique composite of football experiences which all have a place and purpose when they support the betterment of Torquay United.merse btpir wrote: 05 Nov 2018, 06:39 read what was posted in the manner in which it was presented rather than in the manner they try to interpret it and put it others.

Contract cancelled. Gone to Wealdstone. Petulance when substituted did for him. https://www.wealdstone-fc.com/news-blog/player-news-1merse btpir wrote: 04 Nov 2018, 18:35I can tell you the way to do that is defend from the front and get your foot in front of his and the man in the squad best equipped to do that is the much maligned and seemingly on his bike Chris Regis.

Might have; might not. Plenty of players aren't happy when being subbed; experienced managers know it's best to leave them to their sulk and deal with it later ~ if there's anything to deal with.Rjc70 wrote: 06 Nov 2018, 01:11 Contract cancelled. Different players react in different ways...my own son was the model of professionalism in leaving the field whenever he was called off last season but behind the dressing room door he was a pain in the arse when that happened and in his mind it did him no good at all. Maybe he would have been better off throwing his toys out of the pram as he left the field and leaving the problem out there in the open. Who knows? Different individuals have different personalities.
My understanding of Regis is that; having a player in and around the club living in the Lodge who was not going to figure in the manager's style of play, it was thought better he found another club. No point in being somewhere he wasn't going to get any game time and an experienced manager knowing that can only be counter-productive for both parties...that doesn't add up to 'petulance'.
I don't like this (almost) urban myth being perpetuated that Regis has a bad attitude. He had a problem with Port Vale that was publicised in the media where he was told a few home truths and basically told to go away and grow up. This happens to lots of young players early in their careers; it does not always transpire that the problem follows wherever they go thereafter. We just do not know do we.
Better for him that he's now got a London club instead of kicking his heels far from home and off the football beaten track; better for the Club because it frees up a space.

It's no myth when two clubs have shown him the door for having piss poor commitment and attitude. It's becoming a habit ![😉](//cdn.jsdelivr.net/gh/twitter/twemoji@latest/assets/svg/1f609.svg)

Regarding the article in Devon Live about Reid's dive:
Interesting asessment by the Billericay fans. Difficult to see from the other end of the ground, and if it was a dive then the referee made the correct decision.
However it is a bit rich that they complain about unsporting behaviour when it took their man at least 4 minutes to leave the pitch after being sent off.Furthermore, their No 6 also took an age to leave, once substituted. In both those cases, the referee, was weak and should have booked both of them. Perhaps they would like to discuss that time wasting and " cheating" on their social media.
