will anyone sign on?

Post by bixieupnorth »

we've all read that ronan has signed a new contract for 12 months at ipswich so i assume he wont be coming back, but what are our thoughts about the rest of our loanees, would we want them, or will their teams be recalling them on the strength of their, mostly, highly successful spell at plainmoor??

jake seems to have gone off the boil, tomlin while willing seems to be a little easily knocked off the ball? the midfield lads have all acquitted themselves well and if i could choose just one it'd be stanley that i'd keep please!

According to someone on here, I've forgotten who, Stanley has already refused a recall from Morecambe and is out of contract at the end of the season. From his twitter it seems he gets on very well with the team so fingers crossed he's a keeper!

This indeed is good news as Bevan of late hasn't exactly been on top form.

I think there was already a similar thread on this story but...

I believe it depends If we go up or not,

Staying:
Stanley (even if we don't go up)
Robinson (unless someone in a higher league comes in for him)
Oastler (unless someone in a higher league comes in for him)

Maybe:
Tomlin (hasn't done enough for me at the minute)

From what Stanley has said, he'd like to be here next year. Buckle also seems pretty confident about getting oastler, robinson if we go up, and not really sure about tomlin
The gulls are going up

Ronan Murray was never going to stay here past the end of the season, and Tomlin i am not sure whether there is a possible deal on here or not,i believe he is on a long contract with the Dagenham, and i think the price they will want, will be to high.

As for Stanley and Robinson,i think the one player who is a must keep at all cost's is Stanley, players of that quality in centre midfield at this level are few and far between.

Robinson i am not sure about, dont get me wrong good player happy to see him stay, would not push the boat out to far for him though, also think his heart still lie's with Shrewsbury,so think this will be down to whther he is offered a new contract with the Shrew's,or what other offer's come in.

They got him for nowt (out of contract) and he's got several ahead of him at Dags. They may see it as a way of cutting their wage bill ??

True, however they are not flushed with cash and as yet are not safe in league1,if they are relegated i would expect them to keep him,if they stay up maybe they will let him go,in the first instance i would expect them for there own benefit to try and get the maximum amount of cash possible.

Its a buyers market though, not a sellers. Most teams at this level (L1/L2) are running thinner squads then they used to and there will be a lot of players looking for new contracts come June.

Haven't seen this posted on another thread, apologies if it has been.
This is good news. He wants to stay, we want him to stay. Get it sorted Bucks!

As most have said, if we could keep one it'd have to be Stanley. The rest I could take or leave to be honest - Robinson can be dangerous, Tomlin's getting better and looks to have a good touch and a bit of grit, and I get the feeling there's more to come from Oastler, but I can imagine all commanding a reasonable transfer fee and think it might be worth seeing what's available for free/loan come the summer.
