on first glance all 4th div games today look like home wins!! dont know if its ever happened before but i've got a quid on it!!
prob teams like barnet, vale, oxford could throw a spanner in the works i guess, and for our sakes i hope a few of the other challengers slip up

We'll both be heading up to Burton, pop over and introduce yourself Nick. It would be lovely to put a face to the name behind all the wonderful matchday threads

so we now have 3 games left and no matter what happens later tonight and tomorrow we will still be in the playoffs!!
i would imagine that all 3 of stanley port vale and the gills will win tomor, but that rotherham will drop points later tonight. shrewsbury i am not so concerned about tomorrow as i want them to save all their efforts to beat stanley on monday!! that really is a massive day for us with the following play off/auto hopefuls clashes occuring:-
Chesterfield v Bury
Rotherham v Gillingham
Shrewsbury v Accrington Stanley
Stevenage v Port Vale
Wycombe v Crewe
i think once we've managed to, hopefully, overhaul burton, we should wish for home wins for shrews and rotherham. port vale maybe could do us a favour, a chesterfield win would mean they are almost certain to be champions before they come to plainmoor a week tonight. which would no doubt help our pursuit of a much awaited home win?
theres so many permutations its mind boggling!!
heres another link to the prediction machine in case anyone is bored!!

I wonder what the ntfc idiot who was all over our board o the first game of the season thinks of his division winning side now? They look like there going down with todays results...
About as good a set of results we could expect really.
Accy were always going to win today, Bradford are absolute litter and Accy are immense at home. However this now does leave Accy with 3 tough fixtures (away at shrewsbury, home vs a resurgent Barnet and away at Burton). They are nowhere near as formidible away as they are at home, and with Barnet in searing form there is a chance they may only pick up a maximum of 3 points between now and the end of the season.
Gillingham losing at home to Barnet is a big shock, but bodes well for us as Barnet have a couple of our rivals to play (see above). Gillingham are another strong home side, so for them to capitulate like that is a real turn up for the books, and great news for us. They have tough closing fixtures (Rotherham (A), Macc (H) and Chesterfield (A)), similar to us but they may only pick up 5 points from those 3, meaning we'd only need 4 points to pip them to the playoffs.
Its going to take quite an effort for Rotherham and Port Vale to gate-crash the party now, Rotherham perhaps have the best chance as they are playing sides in and around there but they're both going to need 5 points to even overhaul us, let alone anyone else. Its not impossible, but it is going to require very special performances from them to get into the playoffs.
Shrewsbury for me are big favourites for third place. I'd also say Wycombe have done enough for the playoffs, but they seem to be the team who are going to take poor form into the big games and I can see them slipping up. Its between Accrington, Gillingham, Stevenage and ourselves for the remaining 3 spots, and the toughness of fixtures is incredibly similar for all clubs so its too tight to call. How we could have done with that extra point now!
The weekends results just go to make the Burton game even more crucial. We have a chance to really steal a march on a lot of clubs around us, but Burtons tails will be up after their win today. I'll be there, and I'm sure it will be a tense experience!

Stanley result was not a surprise for me, but I did not see Gillingham and Vale losing at the beginning of today.
It's still in our hands, a win at Burton will give us a great chance to get into the play-offs, especially as many of our play-off rivals are playing each other. As long as we have a gap of a couple of points from the team in 7th come Monday evening then I'll be happy.

Super results today, what we need to do now is send a message to the rest of the league that, despite a couple of disappointing recent results (they aren't to know we did in fact beat Vale and we battered the shit out of Wycombe for scant reward) we are still a proper team. We do this by giving Burton a damn good thrashing. 5 or 6 nil would do, a result which shows clearly to the other teams around us that they are fighting among themselves for the places below us and they should have no aspirations of finishing above us.

I will laugh my lungs out of my arse if this happens. I am absolutely praying for Barnet to better the Cobblers result on Monday, that will put them right in the shit. I hate NTFC more than any other team in L2 (this is quite a statement, given my well publicised, long held feelings of derision towards Accrington Shit ley), for no reason other than their fans are just arse holes beyond belief. Not a thread goes by on their board without an argument breaking out, and some threads only have one post!

Was at work all day so I was delighted when I was told Gills lost aswell as Vale. I'm still hoping that the -1 point won't come into play.
I think 2 wins from 3 will guarantee it, personally. Play like we did yesterday at Burton and we should win (aslong as we find our scoring boots). Hopefully their win at Aldershot will mean there is less onus on them desperately needing to win on Monday. Chesterfield will have hopefully sewn the league up by tthe time they come to town, and we can take the points in that game.
Really hope it's not down to the final day though, Rovrum will be a very tricky tie - they were probably the 2nd best side to come to Plainmoor, behind Bury.

Saw a lot of the players at Newton Abbot races yesterday. Was a little start-struck being up close to them.
Not surprised to see Billy Kee stuffing his face with cheese and onion crisps and a can of coke though - Roberston and Ellis were on the ice lollies! Good to see Tomline, Stanley and Jake getting involved with the social stuff - hopefully they'll all want to stay down here and sign up permanently.
You could defo tell they were all footballers though, absolutely love themselves
