Ross Hannah
Ross Hannah
I am really a Sheffield Wednesday and Stocksbridge Park Steels (Northen Premier League Premier Division) Ross Hannah is signing for Torquay United and I would have Ross Hannah back at any of my two clubs. He is a fantastic player. I dont know what you are paying for him but you will soon see that you have got a bargain.
I am going to put £50 on him being league two top scorer next season. Oh-Dont forget to put money on the Gulls for the league 2 title also.
I am that confident about this player.

He's out of contract and 24, so we wouldn't have to pay a fee I'm pretty sure. Matlock took the gamble by turning down the bid from us, and have missed out on the play-offs. He's free to listen to all his offers, but hopefully he'll decide to come to Plainmoor - we can offer him league football, and a place in a talented young squad that's going to see a few players move on to a higher level.
Fingers crossed this happens.

Seen he's on the radar of Rovrum, Bradford and some other L2 sides up norf, but I hope he chooses us.
Don't know whether the first post is legit though, as it could just be nonsense..

I really hope we sign him. I was lucky to see him play not too long ago, and he really is the business, think of Jamie Cureton, but younger. Such an intelligent finisher with bags of talent, he'd fit in our team so well, especially the way we play our football. Him and Stanley need to be signed in the summer, if we do so, then i can see a successful season, whatever league we're in.
Oh and Buckle, if you can't get Robinson, Jamie Vardy of Halifax would be nice![Wink ;-)](./images/smilies/wink.gif)

LATEST ON ROSS HANNAH FROM MARK ATKINS (Matlock Manager) - I've spoken with Ross again this week and have not ruled out the possibility of him staying at Matlock. That new contract he's been offered is there waiting for him as long as he wants it. But I would think he'll wait a couple of weeks or so to see what offers come in and that's perfectly understandable.â€ÂÂ

Well we shall see but it's wrong to assume that a move to a league 2 club would be what' he sees as best for him as it depends on what's going on in his personal life and what he is offered.

as has been said before, he works and gets paid by matlock, cant imagine we'd offer him a package that betters that and he'd have to uproot, leave family, friends etc? i reckon its 50/50 if nhe decides to come and gamble on moving to a big club after a successful season with us?

No disrespect to Matlock, but Ross is getting to the point in his career when it's now or never, and surely he'll want a crack at the league, at least to try and attract attention to himself from other clubs up the pyramid? Though as you said, a part time contract could turn out to be more lucrative than a full time one, especially as he's probably got another job, and thus two incomes. I'm hoping he's an ambitious guy, and wants a crack at the league, and down here in Torquay . But that's still a hope for now! :~D

I believe he s a landscape gardener as well as a footballer which i presume pays pretty well so i guess its down to whats the right offer for himself and his family right now and as he s loved at Matlock and with our recent new stand and social club he could see us as going places and stay OR a side could come in and give him the deal he wants and if that is so then he will leave with everybody's blessing and i m sure we will follow his career but it s a big decision to leave a club where he s loved by the fans and the star player and guaranteed income for a move that might not go right and especially if you consider Torquay and Grimsby to uproot and move away from his family and friends although the fact he hasn t turned down Matlock s contract offer and is taking time to think can only be a good thing for Matlock as we had this last season and he ended up staying for the 10/11 season so we shall see.

12345,
I'm sure that is what he has told your manager, but he's hardly likely to say anything else, is he?
As for the idea that you are 'going places' I'm sure you are, I hope that you do and I wish you every success in that pursuit, but even if you win promotion every season from next year, he'll be 28 by the time you get to where we are now. Imagine now that you're promoted, on average, every three years, he'll be well over 30 by then.
Interesting to see the reaction on the Swindon Town forum this week when his name was mentioned. For a club deep in the shit and with a fair old chance of 'doing a Stockport' and dropping out of the league, their fans have an awfully 'Northampton Town' attitude.
Matt.

J5 said, "ferrarilover is 100% correct"
Well Ferrarilover,
If he decided that he wants to go then why not reject the contract offer out right and say “I v decided i want to pursue a career with a league club†as nobody would stop him in fact as the gaffer has said he would have his full support and the fans full support as like last season we all expect him to move to a bigger club but he didn t do that last season when he was out of contract and had a chance to move on so theres a slight chance we may get lucky and retain him for another season which i really hope so as he s a top bloke who takes his time to talk to anybody and who a lot of the youngsters who visit Causeway Lane look up to.
I think he s keeping his options open at the moment and seeing what comes along and that includes Matlock s offer as he s a big part of the club and i believe his brother works with or used to work with the younger Matlock sides but as i v said it s very much a wait and see time.
I really do appreciate the respect from most of the Torquay fans towards Matlock and the fans as thats not something you see from all the clubs at league level (and Swindon proving themselves a good example for playing the “I m to big for my boots†club) and i think thats a big credit to your club and you should be proud of yourself s for that and i really do hope you manage to get in the play off s as ever since this whole thing has kicked off i v kept an eye on your sides result s so i wish you the best of luck this Saturday.
