I don't think anything's been said, it's probably worth an email to the club.numpte wrote:Anyone know if the club are planning on selling off bits of the old one? Wouldn't mind a couple of grandstand seats to tuck away down the garden.

Other clubs in the past have done an auction for things like seats etc or you could wait until the last game in the old Grandstand and just rip one out as you leave.yellowforever wrote: I don't think anything's been said, it's probably worth an email to the club.

I emailed the club regarding this a while back and they said that it was something they were considering.Awayday wrote: Other clubs in the past have done an auction for things like seats etc or you could wait until the last game in the old Grandstand and just rip one out as you leave.
They also mentioned that they might do a name a brick scheme.

Oh, my mistake, didn't realise that said 'brick'. Though it was...never mind, my mistake.

It's now the 1st of June and looking out of the window over the Bronx (Ellacombe) towards Plainmoor, I don't see a mushroom cloud full of asbestos dust indicating demolition has begun.

My mate lives in Plainmoor and says they are already taking things out of the grandstand. He says there's a skip at the end of the Grandstand, and the interior is being stripped.
Not sure how reliable this is, anyone else hear/see this?

I read a while back in the HE that demolition couldn't begin for a month. Not sure how long ago I read that, maybe two weeks? I don't think they can start demolishing the stand until the school term has ended, as the main entrance to Westlands is right there, and it could be quite dangerous?!Trojan 67 wrote:"We should hear confirmation by the end of May."

Just a thought.
I live opposite. I cant see anything going on with the Grandstand, only alot of work with the pitch !.........i guess making it perfect for next season.

I havn't heard this but it does sound sensible. I was walking past the other day and what I pressume are outlines for the new stand sprayed onto the path behind the Grandstand.

Went up to the ground today and there were a load of markings for the new stand. They run about 6 feet further out than the original stand, and the stand looks like it will run past that box to the away turnstiles.
