From a conversation I had with a well known, well placed figure within the club at the pub today before the match, I would suggest that talk of his demise is greatly exaggerated. Don't give up hope of seeing him in yellow next season just yet.

Not sure Matt - to be honest, based purely on his comments on Twitter he is clearly keen on signing for Bradford whether our man on the inside knows about it or not! That said, if Jackson doesn't get the job (which surely could quite easily be the case) then maybe it won't happen ... but judging by his (Hannah's) comments it's pretty clear that BCFC is his first choice! In which case good luck to him, personally I think that isn't the right move for him but whatever we move on! I really cannot overstate just how close this particular chap is and how insistent he is that Mr H has put us top of his list of clubs to join. I too have seen the Twidder comments (indeed, it was I who re-animated this thread with that very news) but despite these, I am happy that we will get him.

I think it's very easy to read too much into twitter. We have to remember what is written is most probably what people (followers) want to here, which may not always be the same as what they genuinely think.
After trawling through his tweets, it seems Ross Hannah has a number of Bradford followers and many have contacted him and he's merely responded by complimenting their club. I wouldn't say it's a done deal based on this - if Bradford is an option, no matter how big or small, he should respond if a number of them are contacting him. It wouldn't be a very good start if he responded by saying "Bradford would do I guess if no one else wanted me, but I'd much rather play for a club like Barnet or Port Vale".
A particularly shrewd player could use twitter as a bargaining tool - if another chasing club sees positive comments about a rival and see them leaning towards them, they may believe they have to up their offer in order to attract them (I'm not saying this is what is necessarily happening in this case, just raising the possibility of how it may be used by some of the cleverer players in the future)
Similarly with Robinson, we should bare in mind that the majority of his followers are Shrewsbury fans. Twitter is the only way he can appease Shrewsbury fans at the moment, whereas we care more about his performances on the pitch. Given how he was tossed a side relatively quickly and perhaps unexpectedly at Shrewsbury he might feel that it would be foolish of him to put all of his eggs in our basket - what's to stop Buckle doing the same at the end of the season?
If twitter was his big problem with Turner, as suggested by some at Shrewsbury, then appearing dedicated and having a better attitude through twitter now may be his only hope of keeping his options open. He may also want Turner to appear the unreasonable bad guy, thus garnering Shrewsbury fan support. His twitter has been toned down here, or he has had no issues at all, but ultimately I think Buckle would offer him a contract based on his on field performances, not his positive Shrewsbury comments on twitter.

Unproven at even BSP level, been looked at by various league clubs yet none have considered him worthy of signing, he is certainly "middle aged" in terms of someone turning professional.
He is a big gamble for any league club to take and I wouldnt be too fussed if we dont totally push the boat out to sign him.
We dont exactly have the budget to take a punt on someone who may not make the step up straight away.
Whilst i do agree with the sentiment about failing to sign Hannah,it will not be the end of the world if we miss out on this lad.
What i do diss-aree with is him being middle aged as far as turning pro,Vinny Jones came from the non-leagues i do believe into the old fourth division relatively late in there careers,and how old was Chris Brandon when our club signed him for i believe correct me if i am wrong from Bradford p.a.

Is he really that much of a punt though? We would be getting him on a free and the punt would be his wages as long as we get him on a fairly short term contract. I'd consider Robinson just as much of a punt considering he could now have lost his sparkle for the entire time he's with us. There is just as much chance of a proven league player not fitting in well and playing poorly as there is of Hannah not doing his thing.

Wasnt Vinny only 21 when he joined the Wombles ?
Chris B was 23 when he joined us but it doesnt seem to happen much nowadays though.

I believe our club was prepared to pay out alot more than a few quid and a bag of footballs for Hannah,now no fee apllies,i would suggest the club could use a small % of the fee they were going to pay for this lad to give a decent contract,any one who can score 51 goals even at that level will have something about them,this one is worth the punt if thats what it is.

Yes he was that age but, then again, Daggers were a Conf side and he didnt get many starts the first season (not suprising when Mackail-Smith was showing his prowess).
We know from experience its a bigger jump than many assume from BSP to L2, Matlock are 2 levels below that as well.
If we do sign him, I would hope he could bag plenty, theres just a niggling thought that we would be better using the money on someone who has shown he can score at L2/BSP level...

Well they still have to build a team for next season and maybe they think they can do this by bringing in non league players and not pay big wages, its a theory.

Hmmm, I see your point 12345 (please change this, worst username ever) but if they do this, they might just as well ask the League to demote them now. As good as RH is (and he is undoubtedly gifted, unproven or not), to find a squad of players like him and for them all to gel and perform at L2 level across 46 matches really would be a quart from a pint pot. Yes, they are deep in the shit, but to attempt the great escape with, basically, a full time team full of part time players would be suicide.
Boy, how I bet they are regretting promotion to the Premier League now.
