Ryan Gilligan set to leave Northampton
I just saw on the BBC website that Ryan Gilligan is set to leave Northampton: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/13334606.stm (it's not the main part of the story)
I didn't see him play for us when he was here, was he any good?

Read a rumour on another forum that he's lined up for Argyle
Isn't he still under contract? Unless he's leaving by mutual consent on a free how could Argyle afford to bring anyone in?

There seems to be quite a few players being released.
Leon McKenzie, Ryan Gilligan, Paul Rodgers, Marcus Hall, Courtney Herbert, Abdul Osman, possibly Kevin Thornton and anyone else who wasn't in their last match squad. Could be worth looking at a couple of them for squad players. Not sure whether many of them would get in the first team regularly.

I also so this but from what I saw, I didn't go a lot on him so I didn't bother making a thread of it. Argyle would be a good move for him though if that's true.

saw him come on as a sub away at accy and he was fairly anonymous but that was only half a game so i can't possibly comment if he is a good player or not. any new faces will be welcomed and we'll see how they fit in. to get stanners back would be immense though and also to tie the pickler down to a longer contract coz i'm sure i read somewhere that his contract is up at the end of the season. can someone put the record straight on that thanks.

Abdul Osman released? Probably the best of the lot, there. He was one of their better players at Sixfields in March.

Without going off topic to much: simply because he hasn't been offered a new deal yet.andygull wrote:Cheers russian. WE MUST GET THE PICKLER SIGNED UP!! WHY HASN'T HE SIGNED ALREADY?!! Sorry about that, just panicking about the prospect of losing arguably our best player next season.

So, having finished bottom (or wherever) they are shipping out half of their "Championship quality" squad? Interesting move, looks like its not only their idiot supporters pinning their entire future on that useless Harrad loser and his three goals all season. (Still more than Torres though)
